The fourth-largest city in the country, Houston also boasts a well-connected and dynamic LGBT community, including many persons of color. In early May, Houston Splash (aka Houston Black Pride) is held in this diverse, LGBT-popular city in early to mid-May - the dates this year are May 5 through May 9, 2016.

The five-day fest includes a number of parties and gatherings, some for men, some for women, and some appealing to both.

Here's a full schedule of Houston Splash Events, including details on the Boylesque vs Burlesque "strip down", the Uncens.Her.ed Kick Off party, the welcome reception, the Him.4.Him Kick Off party, the official Superstar Social on Saturday, and the major Saturday-night blowouts, H.I.Steria for men, and Vixens for women.

The host hotel had yet to be announced as of this writing. Check back here for details on special rates offered during the weekend.

Also mark your calendar, as Houston Gay Pride Week is in late June.
