Transiting through the new Hyderabad airport? Unfortunately, the airport's remote location in Shamshabad (30 kilometers/19 miles southwest of the city center) means that there aren't many appealing hotels nearby. Currently, the airport doesn't have a transit hotel. One was operated by Plaza Premium Lounge but it closed in November 2019 while the airport is being upgraded and expanded. This guide to hotels near Hyderabad airport points out the top alternatives.
Luxury: Novotel Hyderabad Airport
The closest and best hotel in the vicinity of the new Hyderabad airport, the Novotel is situated opposite the terminals on the Airport Approach Road. This large and modern luxury hotel has 305 rooms and suites, two restaurants, two bars, a swimming pool, meeting rooms, spa and 24 hour fitness center. It's a great place to relax! Double rooms cost from around 7,000 rupees per night, including tax. The hotel also offers a discounted transit rate for same day check outs (no overnight stays). There's a free shuttle bus, which takes about 10 minutes to travel between the airport and the hotel.
Hotel Hyderabad Grand offers the best value for money in the area. This mid-range hotel is located on the Hyderabad-Bangalore highway, about 15 minutes from the airport. It opened in 2015 and has recently undergone renovation. There are three categories of rooms, and most are spacious. However, if you're sensitive to traffic noise, make sure you stay at the back of the hotel. Facilities include restaurant, spa, business center, and complimentary WiFi and breakfast. Foreigners may have issues with the limited food options (the buffet is mostly Indian cuisine, including for breakfast) and unavailability of alcohol. Rates start from around 3,500 rupees per night, including tax.
Budget: Oyster Airport Hotel
If you're traveling on a budget, Oyster Airport Hotel is your best bet. This 40-room hotel is less than 10 minutes from the airport (albeit in an isolated location just off the highway interchange). It's quite modern and is set on large grounds that are ideal for walking -- which is a bonus. Rooms are comfortable enough and the restaurant serves decent food. Some guests say maintenance could be improved though. Expect to pay around 3,000 rupees per night upwards, including tax. Breakfast is included.
Cheap: Hotel Neem Tree
Basic and no-frills, Hotel Neem Tree is best suited to Indian guests or foreigners who don't mind roughing it. The property is more like a lodge than a hotel, as there's no restaurant. Food can be ordered in from local restaurants though and menus are provided. The 10 small but functional rooms have configurations ranging from single to triple. Some rooms are air-conditioned. All have attached bathrooms with hot water and TVs. The airport can be reached in about 15 minutes from the hotel, which is on the main road in Shamshabad. The staff are friendly and helpful, and will arrange reasonably priced airport transfers. Rates start from 930 rupees for standard room with a fan, including tax.
