Statia is a small island and lightly visited, so as a result there are only a handful of hotels to choose from. But that's not a bad thing: you won't need to spend hours searching for somewhere to stay, and you'll find most lodging surprisingly affordable.
The Country Inn
A six-room guesthouse with simple whitewashed rooms, the Country Inn offers free wifi, air conditioning, and breakfast (the latter upon request) to guests. The budget-priced inn doesn't offer too much in the way of ambiance but is located close to the airport (walking distance, actually) in the pleasant Concordia neighborhood.
Old Gin House
The toniest hotel on Statia has 18 deluxe rooms, mostly garden-view but two facing the ocean. All have king beds, AC, and cable; some have refrigerators. Rates start at $195 nightly. There's a private pool in the garden of this historic building, and ocean swimming is a short walk away. A gorgeous brick bar and restaurant serves guests a three-course dinner a la carte or as part of the "half board" option. Close to several dive shops and the major historic sites of Oranjestad.
Bungalow-style, one- and two-bedroom rooms with full kitchens and waterview terraces make this a unique lodging option on Statia. All rooms have free wifi, and guests can relax by the seaside freshwater pool or at the bar. The resort is slightly off the beaten path, so you'll need a rental car or cab if you want to explore the island.
Harbor View Apartments
Two-room modern apartments for rent in central Oranjestad sleep up to four with a separate bedroom and sofa bed, plus a full kitchen, flat-screen TVs, washing machines, balconies, and terraces with barbecues. In short, a great place for an extended stay on Statia.
