Holland America Eurodam Cuisine and Dining Venues Overview
The guests on the Eurodam appreciate the diversity and excellent cuisine in the various dining venues on the Holland America cruise ship. The ship sails the eastern Caribbean, Alaska, and the Americas.
Many travelers claim their favorite Eurodam restaurant is Tamarind, which serves exquisite Pan-Asian dishes in a spectacular restaurant high up on deck 11. Even with a fee, this one books up quickly, and it's well worth the extra charge.
Canaletto, a casual Italian eatery on the Lido Deck, is also new for the Eurodam. It has menu items from the various regions of Italy.
Holland America favorites such as the Pinnacle Grill and its exceptional beef and seafood have been included on the Eurodam. Rembrandt, the main dining room, covers two decks and features five-course menus with Continental cuisine, vegetarian and low-carb options. The lower dining room is used for "as you wish" dining, and the upper level has two fixed seatings.
Casual options such as the Lido Market, Dive-In, New York Pizza, and Terrace Grill are also popular and good for a quick meal.
Canaletto on the Holland America Eurodam
Canaletto is the Eurodam's Italian dining venue. It is open each evening for dinner from 5:30 to 9:30 pm. Although reservations are recommended for Canaletto, there is no extra fee. Canaletto has seven menus from different regions all over Italy, including
- Friuli Venezia
Dinner starts each evening with antipasti, followed by salad, soup, a main course, and dessert. Gelato is always on the menu!
Eurodam Lido Restaurant
The Lido Restaurant has continental and full buffet breakfast, and full buffet lunch and casual dinner.
Breakfast also includes separate omelet and waffle/pancake stations. In addition to a regular hot lunch buffet, the Lido features separate stations for pasta, tacos, sandwiches, and international cuisine. The international choices change each day and are often Asian (e.g. sushi, Philipines, Indonesian, Chinese, Thai). There is a separate station for desserts, which always include ice cream and usually feature hot bread pudding. New York Pizza, a 13-hour pizza bar, is behind the Lido Restaurant next to the Sea View Pool.
Eurodam Pinnacle Grill
Eurodam's Pinnacle Grill serves the finest Sterling Silver beef and is beautifully appointed with Bvlgari china, Riedel stemware and Frette linens. It is great for a romantic dinner for two or a group celebration.
Eurodam's intimate Pinnacle Grill is a gorgeous room. The table settings and the food are exquisite. Its dark, comfortable atmosphere contrasts well with the Asian ambiance in Tamarind. The Pinnacle Grill is open for reservations-only lunch with an extra surcharge. Here's a sample menu from the Pinnacle Grill.
- Dungeness Crab Cakes
- Seared Duck Breast
- Smoked Pleasures of the Sea - Black cod, salmon, scallops
- Seasonal Greens with pear, pecans, and blue cheese
- Caesar Salad
- Filet Mignon
- Bone-In Ribeye Steak ~ Porterhouse ~ NY Striploin
- Lamb Rack Chops
- King Salmon
The menu is topped off by a selection of delectable desserts, including a superb chocolate souffle and a chocolate volcano cake.
Eurodam Rembrandt Dining Room - Main Restaurant on the Holland America Eurodam
The Eurodam's main dining room is named for a Dutch master - Rembrandt.
Eurodam's Rembrandt Dining Room is on two levels. Deck 2 has open seating for breakfast and lunch, and "as you wish" (open seating) for dinner. Dinner is served from 5:15 pm to 9:00 pm. Deck 3 is open for dinner and has two fixed seating times at 5:15 pm and 8:00 pm.
Guests enjoy the variety of the dinners in the Rembrandt dining room. Holland America features the same menus in the main dining rooms on all its ships sailing the same region, so a seven-day Eurodam Caribbean cruise has the same menus as a seven-day Caribbean cruise on all other Holland America ships. This ensures consistency and helps hold costs down.
Eurodam Tamarind Restaurant - Pan Asian Specialty Restaurant on the Eurodam
Tamarind is a new 144-seat restaurant for Holland America, and the cruise line has found a winner. Anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine should try Tamarind. Tamarind is a good choice for either a group of a romantic dinner for two.
Tamarind's Pan-Asian dishes from Southeast Asia, China, and Japan are exciting and innovative. The only problem with dining at Tamarind is selecting just one soup, appetizer, and main course! The atmosphere of Tamarind is sleek, includes crisp touches from the Far East, and offers spectacular views from its location on deck 11. When you enter Tamarind, you first see the sushi chef, hard at work preparing mouth-watering delicacies for tasting later. The sushi and sashimi selections at Tamarind are excellent.
Next, you are greeted by delightful Indonesian young women who serve as the waitstaff. The meal starts with soup, followed by an appetizer or choice of sushi and sashimi. A dozen entrees are grouped into four Chinese elements -- water, wood, fire, and earth -- and include delectable beef, seafood, poultry, or vegetarian choices.
Tamarind is open for a complimentary lunch, and the fee for dinner is a reasonable fee per person. One extra treat is also available at dinner. Some guests might wish to try the enjoying Rijsttafel, a Dutch adaptation of the traditional Indonesian dinner. It consists of rice accompanied by more than a dozen, often spicy side dishes served in small plates.
Eurodam Terrace Grill
The Terrace Grill is poolside and serves up pizza, nachos, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings, sandwiches and gourmet sausages.
Royal Dutch Tea on the Holland America Line Eurodam
The Eurodam has afternoon tea every day, and passengers enjoy a Royal Dutch tea once on each cruise.
Eurodam Poolside Barbecue
The poolside barbecue is always a bit hit on a cruise, and the Eurodam continues this popular tradition.
