    The Historic Triangle is located in Virginia and includes the colonial communities of Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. The Colonial Parkway joins the three historic attractions with a scenic roadway. No commercial vehicles are allowed to use the parkway for transportation. The Historic Triangle is a popular destination for visitors and offers an unparalleled view of colonial America at a time when Virginia was a powerful center of politics, commerce and culture.     Williamsburg is the most popular of the destinations in Virginia's Historic Triangle. The area has a wide range of attractions including the historic area, shopping, amusement parks and more. Williamsburg is located approximately 150 miles south of Washington DC, 50 miles east of Richmond and 60 miles northwest of Virginia Beach. 

    Driving Directions to Colonial Williamsburg

    From Washington DC: Take I-95 South toward Richmond, Take exit 84A on the left to merge onto I-295 South toward Rocky Mt NC/Richmond International, Take exit 28A to merge onto I-64 E toward Norfolk/VA Beach, Take exit 238 for VA-143 toward US-60. Follow signs to Williamsburg. 

    The Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitor Center is located at 101 Visitor Center Drive, Williamsburg, VA. This is the main parking area. A free shuttle bus transports visitors to the historic area.

    This map shows the streets within the historic district of Colonial Williamsburg. The historic area is not accessible by car and is for pedestrians only. The College of William and Mary and Merchants Square, a shopping and dining area are located to the west of the historic district.     The Historic Jamestown Settlement is located at 2110 Jamestown Rd, Williamsburg, VA. It is approximately 158 miles south of Washington DC and 8 miles southwest of Colonial Williamsburg.

    Driving Directions to Jamestown 

    From Washington DC: Take I-95 South toward Richmond, Take exit 84A on the left to merge onto I-295 South toward Rocky Mt NC/Richmond International, Take exit 28A to merge onto I-64 E toward Norfolk/VA Beach, Take VA-31 S/Jamestown Road. Follow signs to Jamestown.

    From Williamsburg:  Follow Colonial Pkwy, VA-199 W, Turn left onto VA-31S/Jamestown Rd and Follow signs to Jamestown

    Historic Yorktown is located approximately 164 miles south of Washington DC and 12 miles east of Colonial Williamsburg. 

    Driving Directions to Yorktown 

    From Washington DC: Take I-95 South toward Richmond, Take exit 84A on the left to merge onto I-295 South toward Rocky Mt NC/Richmond International, Take exit 28A to merge onto I-64 E toward Norfolk/VA Beach, Continue past Colonial Williamsburg and take VA-143 E. Take VA-238 E to Yorktown. 

    From Williamsburg:  Follow Colonial Pkwy, VA-199 E and Follow signs to Yorktown
