The Herndon Festival is a summer event, hosted by the Town of Herndon, Virginia and the Parks and Recreation Department, that features live entertainment, international foods, carnival rides and games, children's entertainment, a business exposition, 10k & 5k races, a Fitness expo, model railway exhibit, an arts and crafts show and two fireworks displays. The event is the largest FREE festival in Northern Virginia.

The Town of Herndon is located in western Fairfax County. Parking is limited. A free shuttle bus service will transport attendees to and from the festival area, departing every ten minutes from 12975 Worldgate Dr. Riders can park in the Worldgate parking garage and from Herndon High School (by the large rock at the entrance to the school) off Bennett Street. Parking at both shuttle bus pick-up/drop-off locations is free. A free bike valet service will be located at the corner of Lynn and Elden Streets.
10K 5K Races & Fitness Expo
The race course goes through historic downtown Herndon on paved roads. A t-shirt will be given to the first 800 preregistered 10K and 5K participants. Following the race, participants can enjoy refreshments, door prizes, music, and an award ceremony. Packet pick-up will be held during the Fitness Expo on Saturday, June 3, from 11 am-4 pm and on Sunday, June 4 from 6:15-7:15 am at the Herndon Community Center at 814 Ferndale Ave, Herndon, VA.
To enter the carnival area you must purchase a minimum of $5.00 in ride tickets. An exception will be granted to a parent who is accompanying their children.
Attendees are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the performances at any of the stage areas.
