Harrods is considered the world's best department store. Located in Knightsbridge London, it is spread over seven floors and is worth a visit just for the architecture and interior design.
Visit Duration
Allow at least half a day to fully explore the departments, and because you can easily get lost in such a large store. Fortunately there are over 30 eateries throughout the store so you could stay all day.
Surprising Affordable
Everyone can visit Harrods and you may be surprised to hear everyone can afford to buy something, even if it's something small from the Food Hall.
Few Rules
As it is open to all they do ask that shoppers wear clean, presentable clothes (nothing offensive such as slogans or anything revealing), and that you carry backpacks in your hand, not on your back to prevent damage to displays.
Photography
Photography is allowed in most departments but not in Fine Jewellery, the Banking Hall or the Antique Furniture Department.

Dodi and Diana Memorial
There are two memorials to Dodi and Diana in Harrods. This is on the lower ground floor. (More info below...)

The Harrods Dodi and Diana memorials were designed by Bill Mitchell, Harrods architect for more than 40 years.
This memorial was built in 1998 can be found on the lower ground floor of Harrods, at the base of Bill Mitchell's spectacular Egyptian escalator. It area is dimly lit and portraits of Dodi and Diana adorn the top of this simple but romantic shrine.
The inscription beneath the acrylic pyramid reads: "The wine glass has been preserved in the exact condition it was left on the couple's last evening together at the Imperial Suite at the Hotel Ritz in Paris. Dodi bought this engagement ring for Diana on the day before the tragedy."
