    Halloween Extravaganza and Procession of Ghouls

    The Halloween Extravaganza and Procession of Ghouls at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine is one of New York City's most exciting Halloween traditions. Wear your costume, and enjoy this annual Halloween event which begins with the screening of a classic silent horror film accompanied by outstanding organ music, followed by The Grand Procession of the Ghouls. The Procession features outstanding costumes, creatures, and special effects designed by Ralph Lee.

    New York's Village Halloween Parade

    Every year the Halloween parade in the Village is host to the craziest, scariest, and most impressive costumes. The Village Halloween Parade begins at 7 p.m. on 6th Avenue and Spring Street and continues up 6th Avenue to 21st Street. Whether you want to march in the Halloween parade or just watch, this annual event is a great experience.

    • Candlelight Ghost Tours of "Manhattan's Most Haunted House"
      Take a candlelight tour of the Merchant's House, where Seabury Trewell died in 1865. Friday & Saturday, October 21-22 and Thursday - Sunday October 27-30, 2016. Reservations strongly suggested. Tours last approximately 50 minutes and are not appropriate for very young children.
      • Super Spooky Tour (includes fourth floor Servants Quarters) at 6:30, 8, and 9:30 p.m. $35;
      • Spooky Tour: 7:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m., 9 p.m. $25;  MHM Members $20 all times. Reservations essential: purchase tickets.
    • Mid-19th Century Funeral & Cemetery Tour
      On Sun, October 23, 2016 at 4-5:30 p.m. participate in a recreation of the 1865 funeral of Seabury Tredwell. 19th-century mourning dress encouraged. $40, $25 members, $55 VIP reserved seating
    • Tales from the Crypt: Horror on Hallowe’en
      On Monday, October 31, 2016 at 7 p.m. hear dramatic readings of Gothic literature and ghost stories reported by museum visitors. $25, $15 members. Reservations required: purchase tickets.

    All of these events are very popular and reservations are required/strongly recommended.

    'The Orchid Show: On Broadway' Preview

    More than 500 expertly carved pumpkins come together to create this annual event in the Everett Children's Adventure Garden at the NYBG from September 17-October 31, 2016. Every weekend there are special events, including Halloween parades, scavenger hunts and spooky readings.

    Halloween Parade and Pumpkin Flotilla in Central Park

    Live music, spooky stories, pumpkin carving demos and teh annual Pumpkin Flotilla are all part of the fun planned for Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 3:30-7 p.m. Wear your costume and bring your carved pumpkin for this annual event at the Dana Discovery Center. This year there will also be a live "bat encounter" presentation.

It's up to you to crack this cold case. Solve puzzles and collect clues as you play detective. The perfect game for adults or families with kids 8 and up. All new mystery for 2016!
