Dining at Hacienda Encantada
Hacienda is all about options. Indeed the all-inclusive “Dine Out” plan covers not only all the restaurants on property but meals at selected venues in downtown Cabo’s Golden Zone. Or you can just opt to pay separately for meals on and off property.
While there is absolutely no wrong choice among the six restaurants at Hacienda, the most romantic venue is Los Riscos. Located on a terrace with sunset ocean views, Los Riscos offers La Mesa del Patron – a tasting and wine-pairing menu. Roasted lobster tail, anyone?
On Tuesday evenings the tequila bar El Eden, located alongside the fire pit, features Noche de Guateque – a Mexican fiesta, with foods that include tortilla soup and chorizo (Spanish sausage). Entertainment and fireworks cap off the evening.
Make time to enjoy the oyster sushi and shrimp and watermelon salad at La Pergola’s pool bar, washed down with Hacienda’s tamarind margarita. And staff will always be happy to whip up a private dinner beachside decorated with a canopy and... torches.
Restaurants covered in the “Dine Out” plan in Cabo’s Golden Zone include Tequila Museum & Cantina and Baja Lobster. For a special dinner, ditch the plan and eat at nearby Toro. The brainchild of acclaimed chef Richard Sandoval, the Latin-themed restaurant features seviche (sushi and ceviche) and beef chicarron with a strawberry basil caiprinha.Continue to 4 of 10 below.

Honeymoons/Romance Packages at Hacienda Encantada
The property has three honeymoon packages; options include rose petal decorations in the room, Jacuzzi and strawberries dipped in chocolate.
In addition to the packages, many areas of the resort exude romance, from the dazzling series of infinity pools (bob side by side on half-submerged loungers, margaritas in hand, and stare at the craggy coastline) to the holistic spa where you can experience a variety of luxe treatments (hot stone massage is one. The native health ritual temazcal (house of steam), which involves profuse sweating to allegedly rid toxins, is offered. For a more comfortable time, visit the meditation area and follow it up with a couples massage.

Activities at Hacienda Encantada
While it’s easy to spend days and nights at Hacienda Encantada joyfully doing absolutely nothing, there is also plenty of something available. The on-site activity director can help maximize your use of the facilities.
Some activities we most enjoyed during our four-night stay were tequila tasting (fascinating fact: one should swirl, sniff, sip and swallow tequila in a wine glass), a lesson in how to properly make guacamole, yoga, horseback riding and hiking on the 10-acre property.
Of course that was when we could drag ourselves from our number one favorite activity: sun and star gazing by the infinity pool. Near the pool is a life-size “Loteria” Mexican folk art game with Mexican figures like “Charro” and “Mariachi” guests can move around the board.
The vibe here is chill but most evenings include some entertainment ranging from Mexican folk dancing to local singers.Continue to 7 of 10 below.

Nearby Hacienda Encantada
If you tire of the tranquility at the resort, adventure is minutes away. A 15-minute shuttle ride (free if you’re on the Dine Out Plan) from the hotel takes you to the sister property, Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa, located in the bustling Golden Zone.
Nearby Luxury Avenue has designer boutiques such as Gucci and Fendi while Puerto Paraiso Mall boasts a casino, movie theaters, shopping - even a bowling alley. Bring your bathing suits and spend time frolicking in the crystal waters of Medano Beach.
Perhaps the most exciting activity in season (December to April) is whale watching. Cabo, the watery highway for Humpback and Gray whales who travel to their feeding grounds in Alaska, is renowned for its superior whale watching opportunities. Watching a tail breech while aboard a Cabo Adventures excursion was a memory we will always treasure. Other less seasonally limited options from this outfitter include zip lines, sunset cruises, scuba diving, kayaking and more.
For a land-locked... adventure, visit Todos Santos, labeled a “Magic Town” by the Mexico Secretary of Tourism to connote a beautiful travel destination with historic relevance. Located halfway between Cabo and La Paz, Todos Santos, originally founded as a mission in the 1700s, is home to colonial buildings, galleries, great surfing beaches, quaint restaurants and Hotel California, believed to be the inspiration for the Eagles’ ‘70s hit.Continue to 8 of 10 below.

Pros/Cons of Hacienda Encantada
The resort has some fabulous positives to consider when making a decision about where to honeymoon. These include the romantic, secluded locale, unbeatable views, super-relaxing infinity pools, large suites with patios or balconies and all-inclusive packages.
Alas, there are potential negatives to factor in. For example, the resort has some steep hills that can make walking arduous in places (though you can call reception to send a golf cart to ferry you to your destination). Other cons: the beach is rocky and inhospitable to swimmers, though there are scenic overlooks where you can sit, cast stones into the ocean and watch the sunset. And, depending on your taste and creed, you may not be a fan of the Hacienda style of religious art – crosses and Pietas – located throughout the resort and in some suites.
While the remoteness and beauty of the location make Hacienda ideal for honeymooners, it is not exclusively a couples' destination. Indeed, based on the time of year – i.e.: school... breaks – there are young ‘uns around. Luckily there is a kids-only pool in addition to the two infinity pools.
Also of note: the resort attracts a fortysomething crowd so if you crave all youth all the time, then journey on!Continue to 9 of 10 below.
