H Street Festival Highlights

This celebration isn't your average street festival. Beyond the food stands and live entertainment, there's a host of out-of-the-box events. Those who are brave enough to become one of the festival’s performers themselves are encouraged to hit the Karaoke Stage or take a dance lesson at Dance Around the World Stage, where performers specialize in Flamenco, Hawaiian, African, and other cultural and traditional dance styles. Some of the District’s best marching bands will treat visitors to a parade down the festival route at 2 p.m. Families will appreciate the Kids Zone.

There will also be arts and crafts, face-painting, and other family-friendly activities. If you want to get all dressed up, go to the Fashion Stage and walk the runway, or head to the Cosplay Costume Contest from 2-3 p.m. to see all the wacky and creative costumes. Getaway builds tiny houses in the woods just outside the city where visitors can recharge in nature. They will be bringing one of their houses for attendees to explore and have some free giveaways.
