Where to Get a Great Thanksgiving Dinner in Memphis

If you don't want to cook for Thanksgiving, there are plenty of places in the Memphis area that will cook for you. From take home meals to eat-in restaurants, find a turkey dinner to be thankful for!

    The Capriccio Grill, located in the Peabody Hotel downtown, will be offering a special dinner on Thanksgiving Day from 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. The dinner will include traditional fare such as turkey (or ham), dressing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. The cost for the meal is $45 per adult and $19 per child (ages 12 and under). Tax and gratuity are extra. Reservations can be made by calling 901-529-4000.

    Enjoy an elegant Thanksgiving dinner at Chez Philippe in the Peabody Hotel from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Menu will include apple terrine, cauliflower bisque, pork loin or maple-brined turkey, with crispy eggnog cheesecake or duo of pies for dessert.     If you are looking for a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner -- minus the home-cooking -- then Cracker Barrel may be your best bet. This national chain serves up a surprisingly authentic southern fare and pulls out all the stops for Thanksgiving. Because the food is so good, though, expect a wait to be seated.

    The Cupboard Restaurant is Memphis' favorite casual home-cooking eatery, and they're open each year on Thanksgiving for regular meat 'n' three plates, plus turkey, ham, and other favorites. They will not accept reservations, but are always popular, so keep that in mind when planning your day.

    If Huey's continues its tradition of having several locations open on Thanksgiving this year, you'll be able to grab a beer and a burger after a long day of family and football. In 2016, Huey's locations in midtown, Cordova, Poplar, and Germantown opened at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. until late. Stay tuned for 2017 information as soon as it becomes available.

    Head down to the River Inn at Harbor Town for an elegant Thanksgiving Dinner at Paulette's Restaurant. Menu items vary each year, but always reflect the decadent French-inspired cooking that this Memphis favorite is known for.

    The Peabody Hotel will be offering a special Thanksgiving Day brunch on the Mezzanine from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The brunch will include hundreds of items, including traditional Thanksgiving fare. Cost is $76 for adults and $28 for children, excluding tax and gratuity. Make a reservation online.

    Perkins Restaurants are probably best known for their delicious pies, cakes, cookies, and muffins. But each November, Perkins adds Thanksgiving fare to their menu, including the familiar turkey dinner. Just be sure to save room for dessert -- you don't want to miss Perkins' pumpkin pie! There are four Perkins stores in the Memphis area to choose from.
