    Great Falls Park, an 800-acre park located along the Potomac River, is one of the most spectacular natural landmarks in the Washington DC metropolitan area. The park is accessible from Maryland and Northern Virginia and is a popular destination for hiking, kayaking and picnicking. More than 150 different species of birds can be seen at the park including whitetail deer, fox, box turtles, squirrels, coyotes, bats, and chipmunks.
