These courses (both private and public) are some of the best around. Before you head out for a round of golf, consider trying one of these courses. 01 of 05 Purgatory Golf Club Purgatory Golf Club has received many honors, including being named the #1 course in Indiana by Golf Week magazine. Designed by Ron Kern, this par-72 course is the longest in Indiana - 7,700 yards from the back tees. Purgatory spreads across 218 acres and is for the experienced golfer. There are six different tees to play off of for different skill levels. One of Purgatory's noted amenities are the three on-course restrooms. The course includes a state-of-the-art practice facility that is 300 hundred yards long, with up to 40 tee stations. The greens at the practice facility are constructed just like the greens on the course. To play Purgatory during the week will cost you $60 for 18 holes with a cart, $75 during weekends and holidays. Crooked Stick has hosted several championship golf tournaments throughout its history, including the USGA Junior and Senior Championships, the U.S. Women's Open, the Solheim Cup and the USGA Women's Amateur Championship. Crooked Stick has something to offer players of every skill level. This private course, located in Carmel, is by invitation only. It is considered a difficult course. The practice facilities include a driving range, putting green and practice bunker. The recreation facilities include tennis courts, swim facility, and a fitness center. It is a private course, so you must be a member or a guest of a member to play the course. Sagamore Golf Club10900 Golden Bear WayNoblesville, IN 46060 04 of 05 Hickory Stick Golf Club Golfers who prefer playing courses with a European flair, will enjoy the Irish links-style of Hickory Stick Golf Club. The course, designed by Tim Liddy, offers four sets of tees from which to play. Par is 71 at Hickory Stick. Rates to play the course range in price, depending on day of the week and time.
