Wickenburg is about 60 miles northwest of Phoenix. The Dude Ranch Capital of Arizona, Wickenburg was incorporated in 1909 and is noted for its western hospitality.

What is Wickenburg Gold Rush Days Celebration and Rodeo?

The Gold Rush Days Celebration and Rodeo is an annual event held in Wickenburg, Arizona. The event is sponsored by the Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce and celebrate the town's origins as a gold mining center in the days before there even was a City of Phoenix.

Gold Rush Days draws tens of thousands of visitors during the three days of activities.

When is it?

Thursday, February 9 through Sunday, February 12, 2017. Scroll down for the detailed schedule.

Where is it?

Here are directions to the Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce at 216 N. Frontier Street in Wickenburg, AZ: take Interstate 10 West to Loop 303 North. Take the Loop 303 North to US 60 West (Grand Avenue) to downtown Wickenburg. At the intersection of US 60 and Wickenburg Way in downtown Wickenburg,  turn right onto Tegner Street, go two blocks and turn left to Yavapai Street — or, take I-17 north to Carefree Highway (Rte 74). Turn west (left) onto Carefree Highway, traveling past Lake Pleasant to US 60 (Grand Avenue) west into downtown Wickenburg.

10 a.m. Opening ceremonies with Gold Rush officials, gun fights and skits on historic Frontier Street in front of the Chamber office.
11 a.m. Senior Pro Rodeo Slack at Everett Bowman Rodeo Arena, $5 per person
Noon to 5 p.m. Gold panning
7 p.m. Desert Stagers Melodrama at the Saguaro Theatre
7:30 p.m. Del E. Webb Center presents John Anderson. Tickets start at $40.

2 p.m. Senior Pro Rodeo at the Everett Bowman Rodeo Arena. $12 adults; $10 seniors (60+); $5 children ages 13-17; $3 children ages 5 - 12; 4 and under free. Gates open at noon.

How do I get tickets and how much are they?

Tickets for the melodrama, rodeo and the western dance may be purchased in advance by calling 928-684-5479. Tickets for John Anderson may be purchased through the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts.

Are discounts available?

Many of the events are free at this event, like the parade, the western skits on Frontier Street, and the arts and crafts festival.

No discount needed for those!
