Paint and sip is the latest fun girls night out or fun family outing. These classes teach you to draw and paint a simple painting in a fun atmosphere. All of the establishments provide the art supplies needed to complete the project. Most of the establishments offer separate, easier paintings for kids and family nights. Most are BYOB for adults (you must bring your own wine, appetizers or drink of choice).
For the studios that allow under-aged teens to paint on adult nights, please remember there will be wine and other beverages there and a lot of women go there as a ladies night. If you're leery of such a situation, pick a family paint class. Alcohol is not permitted in most of the kids and family paint sessions.
If you're looking for something a little more advanced, the Arkansas Center offers Museum school. They have classes in all aspects of art from jewelry making, to painting, to pottery. They offer much more advanced teaching than these classes that just offer a fun evening out.
This is a much more advanced class (similar to museum school at the Arkansas Arts Center). Instead of just painting pottery, this 6-week course will teach to mold pottery from clay, paint and fire it. They do have children's classes.
Spirited Art is located on 5610 R Street in Little Rock. They are BYOB, and you may bring appetizers too. For open classes, only individuals ages 16 and up can participate. They do offer kid and family classes with a less adult atmosphere. Spirited Art will host private parties, including birthday parties and bachelorette parties. They have open studio times.
Pinot's Palette is located on 11525 Cantrell Rd in the Pleasant Ridge Shopping Center. Pinot's Palette has a self-serve wine bar, but you are allowed to bring beverages with a $10 corkage fee per bottle. Please bring your own corkscrew and snacks. The open classes are open to teenagers aged 13-17 with an adult. They do have children's classes, and can host private parties. They have open studio times.
The Painted Pig is a paint your own pottery studio, but they also do jewelry and fused glass. They have a nice variety of pottery and prices vary. You can free paint whatever you want in their studio, but they offer some "Copy Cat" classes, which are similar to the painting classes (a design is mimicked by the entire class). They'll also paint it for you for a fee. Kids are always welcomed, except on special Girls Night Out classes. Adult beverages are welcomed on "Girls Night Out" only. They do offer parties for adults and children.
