The Cardinals didn't make the playoffs this year, but there's still reason to celebrate this October at Ballpark Village. Several restaurants and bars at the entertainment complex are joining forces with Johnnie Brocks to host a big Halloween party and costume contest.

Date and Admission:

The Halloween Freakshow is Saturday, October 29, 2016, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. General admission tickets are $40 and include access to four bars: Budweiser Brew House, Howl at the Moon, PBR St. Louis and Fox Sports Midwest Live! The tickets also include draft beer, house wine and premium spirits in a souvenir cup.

Costume Contest:

There is a big incentive to get creative and wear a costume to the party. Organizers are offering $5,000 in cash prizes in the costume contest. Show up in your best costume and try to impress the celebrity judges. They will be roaming around looking for their favorite costumes. Their top 15 picks with compete in a live costume contest at Fox Sports Midwest Live! The grand prize winner gets $4,000. Second place gets $800 and third place gets $200. For more information on the contest, see the Ballpark Village website.

Many of the best costumes at these kinds of contests are often homemade, but for those who need a little help or creative inspiration, there are plenty of places in St. Louis to help you out. From local favorites like Johnnie Brocks and Remember Me Costumes to resale shops and chain stores, St. Louis has it covered. More About Ballpark Village:

Ballpark Village hosts special events throughout the year, but it is primarily a sports venue. The entertainment complex is located right next to Busch Stadium and offers special seating for fans during Cardinals games. Ballpark Village has nearly a dozen restaurants and bars including Fox Sports Midwest Live!, PBR St. Louis, Budweiser Brew House and the Drunken Fish. It is also home to the Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum. For more on what to see and do at Ballpark Village, see this Visitor's Guide to Ballpark Village.

Best Options for Parking:

There are parking lots on both sides of Ballpark Village at Clark and 8th Street, and at Clark and Broadway. There are also more than a dozen other parking garages and surface lots nearby. Parking typically costs between $5 and $20 with the closest lots being the most expensive. Also keep in mind, there are detours and road closures along the St. Louis riverfront because of the ongoing construction project at the Gateway Arch.
