If you lose an item at the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL), it's important to know that FLL's lost and found service stores turned in items for 30 days. You can file a lost item claim online or by telephone.

The FLL lost and found service does not accept items that have been left behind on aircraft. If you have lost an item on the plane, contact the airline directly.

If you lost an item at a security checkpoint, TSA will turn it over to the lost and found the next business day so there may be a delay, especially on weekends.

How to File a Lost Item Claim

  1. Gather the following information about your item:
    1. A complete description of the item
    2. Location where you believe you lost it (as specific as possible)
    3. Date of loss
    4. Your flight information
    5. Your contact information
  2. Contact the FLL Lost and Found Department via telephone or fill out their online form. Alternatively, you may visit them in person at the airport in the Rental Car Center on Level 2 past the Enterprise Rental Car counter next to the elevators.
  3. If your item is recovered, the airport staff will provide you with additional instructions for retrieving your item.

  1. Be as specific as possible in describing your item. If you can provide a serial number, this is extremely helpful, especially for electronic items.
  2. File your claim promptly. Items are only kept for 30 days.

What You Need:

  • Description of the item
  • Date item was lost
  • Location of loss
  • Your contact information
