The Taste of St. Louis is an annual event that brings together chefs from many of the area's top restaurants. Dozens of local eateries set up shop at the festival to share their most popular dishes and celebrate St. Louis food culture.
When and Where:
The Taste of St. Louis is held each fall. In 2016, the Taste of St. Louis is Friday, September 16 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, September 17 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, September 18 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event is held at the Chesterfield Amphitheater in Chesterfield.
Admission is free.
Food, Food, Food:
As you would expect, much of the focus at the festival is on the food. More than 35 local restaurants set up booths along Restaurant Row to sell and showcase some of their best dishes. There are also cooking demonstrations and beer tastings. For those who want to see top local chefs in action, check out the Chef Battle Royale. Nine of St. Louis' best chefs will compete in a series of food battles throughout the weekend, with one winner named at the final battle.
Live Music & Entertainment:
Along with all of the food, the Taste of St. Louis is a great place for live music. There are two evenings of free music on the Dillard's Concert Stage. Featured performers on Friday include 40oz to Freedom and the Reel Big Fish. On Saturday, there's music from Jerrod Niemann and CJ Solar.
Kids' Kitchen Children's Area:
Kids' Kitchen promises to keep your children entertained during the Taste of St.
Louis. There are all kinds of activities including games, arts, crafts, food samples and more. Children can also learn about the science of fruit, make a 3D chocolate creation and see a robot exhibit. For more information, including a complete schedule of events, visit the Taste of St. Louis website.
Parking is available in the lots next to the amphitheater at a cost of $10 for general admission or $20 for premium parking. For those who don't want to pay, free parking is offered at nearby Chesterfield Mall with a free shuttle service to the event.
