You can find food trucks at many different venues around St. Louis. But if you want to check out the most popular local trucks all in one place, head to Sauce Magazine's Food Truck Friday in Tower Grove Park.

Food Truck Friday is held one evening a month from May through October. About two dozen food trucks set up shop along Southwest Drive to serve up their most popular dishes and unique creations. There's something for every appetite, including Italian, Mexican, BBQ, donuts, desserts and more. The evening also features live music and local craft beers.

Here is the schedule for 2016:  May 13 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., June 10 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., July 8 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., August 12 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., September 9 from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and October 7 from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The food truck and live music lineup changes each month, so it's a new experience no matter how many times you go. For the complete list of who is scheduled to attend, go to the Sauce Food Truck Friday website.

Food Truck Friday is an inexpensive way to enjoy an evening out and try local cuisine. It's a good destination for couples, groups and families. Adults can relax with their food and drinks, and take in the beauty of Tower Grove Park. For families with small children, the park's main playground is just a short walk away.

Here are some other tips to make your visit to Food Truck Friday more enjoyable:  Many people bring picnic blankets and camping chairs so they can spread out and don't have to worry about finding space at a picnic table. Arrive early for the best selection of food and the shortest wait times. The trucks run out of some foods as the night goes on and the lines get longer and longer. Some of the trucks take credit and debit cards, but its best to have cash. In a pinch, there is an ATM on site, but you will be charged a fee for using it.

Food Truck Friday is just one of the many great outdoor events happening in St. Louis during the warm weather months. Other popular options are Twilight Tuesdays at the Missouri History Museum and the Outdoor Movie Series at Ballpark Village.
