Orlando theme parks are always buzzing with excitement. Laser light shows, fireworks displays, parades and evening shows. It is hard to imagine that they could make the July 4th holiday even more spectacular.

If you are in town and visiting one of the area's major Attractions on the Fourth of July, be sure to check the schedule of special shows, tributes and Fireworks extravaganzas.

 

  • Celebrate the 4th of July at Disney

The Theme Parks are not the only place to celebrate Independence Day. The City of Orlando along with other cities in Orange, Seminole, Lake and Osecola Counties will be celebrating July 4th with daytime festivals, parades and live music performances.

Almost all city and town fireworks displays are free of charge and open to the public. Check the listings below for events that lead up to the holiday and those held on July 4th this year in the Orlando area.

July 3rd and July 4th fireworks in the Orlando area to celebrate the holiday. Bring the family and enjoy evening fireworks extravaganzas at City parks and lakefronts.

  • Red Hot and Boom! (July 3rd)
    Uptown Altamonte - Festivities start at ​4:00pm and run till the completion of the fireworks display at 11:00pm. Live music, entertainment, food and drinks. Live broadcast and music by XL106.7FM. The 25 minute fireworks display, synchronized with a mix of patriotic and today's musical hits.
  • July 4th Lakefest Celebration
  • Fireworks at the Fountain
    Downtown Orlando -  July 4th entertainment, games and food from 4 pm to 10 pm with fireworks starting at 9:30 pm at Lake Eola Park. Check their web site for parking information and event map.
  • 4th of July Celebration at the Lakefront
    ST. Cloud - The Chamber of Commerce presents an afternoon celebration on the 4th of July. Fireworks will begin at 9:30pm.  Festivities include local bands, games, contests, patriotic singing, and arts and craft displays.

    Mount Dora - A grand celebration of our Independence Day with a parade, food, live music, and fireworks at dusk. For more information please call 352-267-2879.  Parade-10:00am; Gilbert Park fireworks presentation runs from 5 - 9 pm.
  • Celebration of Freedom
    Winter Springs - Central Winds Park from 5pm-9:30 pm.  The evening begins with kids games and bounce houses.  There will also be a talent competition and live entertainment until the fireworks begin at 9:10.

  • A Flashback 4th of July
    Celebration Town Center - Celebrating with an All-American Salute to Cinema. This year the day starts with a 9:00am parade through Celebration Town Center. Evening events begin at 5:00pm with a fireworks display at 9:30pm.
  • July 4th Celebration
    City of Kissimmee - From 5:00pm till 9:30 pm at Kissimmee's Lakefront Park. A free concert starts the festivities. Coolers are permitted into the park, but no alcoholic beverages are allowed in. Food and Beverages can be purchased at the park. Call 407-518-2501 for more information.
  • Party in the Park
    Winter Garden - Live Music family activities, food and more.  Festivities begin at 5:00pm, fireworks show at 9:15pm.  Parking is available at Health Central Park and Dillard Street Elementary.
  • Star Spangled Sanford
    Sanford - Food, Fun, Activities and Fireworks are on tap from 5:00 pm till 10:00 pm on the RiverWalk with fireworks display over Lake Monroe. Kids can play in Central Florida's largest Splash Pan and new Ft. Melon play area till 8pm.

Family friendly events - some free, some for a small charge are a fun way for families with smaller children to celebrate the July 4th holiday.

  • City of Winter Park Olde Fashioned 4th of July Celebration
    From 9:00 am - 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, gather  family and friends and wear your red, white, and blue to enjoy a Winter Park tradition. Festivities will include live patriotic music performed by the Bach Festival Brass Band and the Bach Festival Choir, horse-drawn wagon rides, inflatables, and much more.
  • Red, White and Zoo (June 30 and July 1, 2012)
    Central Florida Zoo - Celebrate the 4th and the Central Florida Zoo’s 37th Birthday on June 30 and July 1st from 9:00am to 3:00 pm with live music, games, food, children’s crafts, face painting, magic, water slide and zoo animal encounters. Free admission to the special event with paid Zoo admission.
  • Red, Rock & Blue - Concert in the Park (June 30, 2012)
    Free concert on Saturday, June 30th at Lake Mary City Hall.  Concert in Central Park 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Bring out your blankets, chairs, and picnic baskets. Food will be also be available for purchase. Located at Lake Mary City Hall (Corner of Lake Mary Blvd & 4th Street). For more information, call 407-585-1428.
  • July 4th Celebration
