Why You May Need to Find a Passport Office
Most US citizens don't have passports: if you're among those without one and suddenly decide to leave the country for, say, spring break in Mexico, you will need one quickly because the USA's WHTI dictates that US citizens must have passports to re-enter the US from all foreign countries under most circumstances.
And if you need a passport in under two weeks, you will have to go to a passport office. Not a big deal (aside from getting there): I've done it, and not only was there almost no one else there, but it was quick and easy, and the government staff was perfectly nice (as compared to, say, the TSA). If you are leaving the country soon enough to need a passport now, then bon voyage!
