Fathers Day Festivals, Events and Ideas in Minneapolis and St. Paul

Father's Day 5K Walk or run at Lake Phalen in St. Paul on Father's Day. Heart disease is the number one premature killer of men, but taking exercise can significantly reduce his risk. So encourage dads and grandads to get outside with you, and spend a fun morning walking or running as a family at Lake Phalen, for charity, and for Dad's healthy heart. As well as the 5K run, there's also a 1/4 mile kids fun run.

Farmington's Dew Days Days The annual community celebration in the southern suburbs runs from June 11-15. The biggest day of the festival is the Saturday on Father's Day weekend, with a carnival, rib cook-off, family entertainment, parades, pizza eating contest, live music, and a beer garden.

The Stone Arch Festival is back for 2013, a welcome return to the Minneapolis summer calendar. The Stone Arch Festival runs from June 14 - 16, and there will be lots of live music, art and good food on all three days, and a Father's Day car show. At St. Anthony Main in downtown Minneapolis.

See a Minnesota Twins game. The Twins are playing at home against the Tigers on June 14, 15, and 16. As a Father's Day promotion, The first 10,000 male baseball fans will receive a Twin barbeque spatula, plus kids can get Twins players' autographs before the game.

Father's Day Brunch Cruise on the Mississippi. The Padelford Riverboat Company is running a Father's Day brunch cruise, and a Father's Day sunset cruise, on the Mississippi River on their old-fashioned riverboat. Cruises depart from Harriet Island in St. Paul.

Father's Day Brunch Cruise on the St. Croix. The Father's Day Brunch cruise departs from Hudson, WI for a champagne brunch on a boat on the beautiful St. Croix river. In the evening, there's a Father's Day Comedy Cruise, also departing from Hudson, WI.

Father's Day Trains. Does dad like trains? The Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway is running a Father's Day brunch train, and a Father's Day dinner train, departing from just across the state line in Osceola, WI.

The Nature Valley Grand Prix and Bike Festival begins on June 6 through June 16. On Father's Day, take Dad to watch the finale of world-class riders in the Stillwater Criterium, thirty high-speed laps of downtown Stillwater. There's more races, plus art, music and stunt rider demonstrations in various locations all through the festival.

Father's Day Lunch and Outdoor Activities at Baker Park Reserve. Enjoy brats and burgers, then try out outdoor activities like archery and rock climbing with Dad. $12 per adult, $8 per child, children 2 and under are free, and pre-registration is required the Three Rivers Park District website.

Pa and Ma Day at the Landing. Play old-fashioned sports, dance, ride in a horse-drawn trolley, join in with a baseball game at The Landing, a historic trading site in Shakopee. One Dad (or one Mom) gets in free with one paid child admission.
