Fall for Fairfax Festival 2017

Celebrate the Season with the Whole Family in Fairfax, VA

Fall for Fairfax Festival is Northern Virginia’s largest fall festival including more than 100 interactive activities and exhibits providing fun for the whole family. Special programs focus on education, sport and fitness, the environment, public safety, and personal health. Fall for Fairfax is sponsored by Celebrate Fairfax and is held annually the first Saturday and Sunday of October. Activities include a train ride, kids climbing wall, pumpkin patch, carnival rides, hayrides, petting zoo,  a scarecrow competition, inflatables and dozens of children’s performances.

A dozen local performance groups will provide live musical entertainment. There will be a wide range of food and beverages for sale.

Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, Virginia

Directions from I-66: Take Exit 55B onto the Fairfax County Parkway (Route 7100) North. Turn right onto Fair Lakes Parkway.. Turn right at the second light onto West Ox Road. Turn left at first light onto Post Forest Drive.

The Government Center is straight ahead. Free parking is available in the lots in front of the Government Center and in the parking deck located between the Pennino and Herrity Buildings, across the street.

Rides and Kids Attractions

More than a dozen rides are geared to children ages 2 to 10 years old. Individual tickets are for sale onsite for $1. Rides will cost 2-5 tickets each. You can also purchase an “All-You-Can-Ride” Super Pass or a Weekend Super Pass allowing for unlimited use of all KidWay MidWay attractions, moonbounces, and the Trackless Train Ride. These passes are cheaper if you purchase them in advance online.

Healthy Play Zone

Inova, the non-profit health organization based in Falls Church, Virginia, sponsors a Healthy Play Zone to encourage kids to learn about health. Activities will include a Future Doctor Photo Booth where kids can try on a doctor’s coat and snap a picture in the photo booth; Family Zumba, a  high-energy dance party with kid-friendly routines and a Food Group Toss, a bean bag toss that makes learning about food groups fun.
