The 2104-passenger Eurodam was launched by Holland America in July 2008. The beautiful ship was Holland America's first of the cruise line's "Signature Class".

As such, the Eurodam has many new exciting features. The Pan-Asian Tamarind Restaurant and new casual Canaletto Italian restaurant tantalize the taste buds. Those seeking pampering and relaxation need look no further than the new spa staterooms or the cabanas in The Retreat and by the Lido Pool.

The ship's public areas are contemporary and classic and are filled with interesting artwork, both modern and from the Dutch Golden Age. Fresh flowers dot the corridors, and the elevator doors are spectacular.

More on the Eurodam

These photos of some of the common areas of the ship from an eastern Caribbean cruise and Alaska cruise demonstrate the lovely decor of the Eurodam.

The Eurodam has a dedicated movie theater with very comfortable lounge chairs and popcorn. The chairs are almost too comfortable since many moviegoers often end up napping rather than watching the movie.

The Lido pool sculpture is made of lightweight stone and functions as both a sculpture and an eight-foot high waterfall which guests can walk through as they enter or leave the pool. The word "water" is subtly engraved in the stone in 100 languages from around the world. The water sculpture is found at the end of the swimming pool on the Lido Deck.

The elevator doors on the Eurodam are striking and the best-looking I've seen on cruise ships. The pattern is even used to decorate the Daily Program.

Kids can also participate in the HAL Kids Culinary Workshops. The children will learn basic cooking techniques, kitchen safety, new ingredients and how to follow recipe instructions. All the workshops are hands-on where questions are encouraged and having fun is a must.

HAL Kids Culinary Workshops are geared toward two age groups; ages three to seven and ages eight and up. Teenagers 15 and up may participate in the adult classes.
