We're back with our series Inside Atlanta—each week, we sit down with influential locals to talk about what Atlanta means to them. Today we’re chatting with Justin and Kelly Anthony, two masterminds behind Atlanta’s ever-growing food scene.

Justin Anthony, a soccer player born and raised in South Africa, moved to the US in hopes of starting a professional soccer career. After suffering a knee injury, he pursued his other passion – food. Anthony opened of 10 Degrees South, the first South African restaurant in Atlanta, followed by its hip younger sister Yebo Beach Haus in Buckhead. His restaurant group, True Story Brands, now includes Cape Dutch Braai + Bar and two Biltong Bar concepts--one in Buckhead and one at Ponce City Market

A recipient of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “40 Under 40” award, Anthony married Kelly Wolf, a renowned interior designer known for her celebrity clientele. Today we get a tour of The Big Peach lead by Justin and Kelly Anthony themselves.

We live in… Buckhead. We moved to Buckhead 20 years ago before we were married and have remained in the area ever since. We absolutely love living in Buckhead and Atlanta in general. We love the people in Atlanta, who are always friendly and hospitable, and it’s great getting four seasons here.

We wish people knew… about the outstanding restaurant scene we have here. Like NYC, you can find almost any type of cuisine.

You can find us…  at Flywheel. When we’re not at our restaurants, Flywheel helps counter our eating habits.

It’s dinner time, we’re headed to… Kyma (Best Greek/Mediterranean), Umi (Best Sushi), Atlas (Best American Fine Dining), Antico Pizza (Best Pizza) and Superica (Best Tex Mex). These are some of our current favorites. We are foodies, so we love eating out.

Clock strikes 5 o’clock, we’re drinking… Wine. We both love it. Outside of our own establishment we love the bar area at Umi, and I’m sure we are going to love their [forthcoming] bar, Himitsu, too.

If we had to stay in a hotel, we’d check into… The St. Regis. It has a great location with easy access to great restaurants.

Atlanta’s best kept secret is… [our restaurant] 10 Degrees South. Even after 20 years, people are still discovering South African food and wine.

When we’re playing tourist, we go to… a Hawks or Falcons game. We love to take friends there. We also enjoy taking people to Piedmont Park as well as going to Chastain Park for summer concerts.

We get our sweat on… at Flywheel in Buckhead, or around Chastain Park.

We love spending our money at... Phipps Plaza. We shop a lot at stores like K La, Saks and Gucci.
