If you're visiting the nation's capital for Easter in Washington, D.C., there are plenty of fun events, parades, and activities around the area for you and your family to enjoy.
With the arrival of spring, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia are all bustling with outdoor activities and events including the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. On Easter weekend and the weeks leading up to the holiday, though, you can expect to find some great brunches, egg hunts, and opportunities to see the Easter Bunny in person.
In 2018, Easter weekend starts on Good Friday, March 30 and ends Easter Monday, April 2. While most egg hunts and "Eggstravaganza" celebrations take place over Easter weekend, many do take place a week or two before the holiday.

President Donald Trump and his guests will welcome thousands of lucky families from around the U.S. to the White House lawn for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday, April 2, 2018, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. The event, which dates back to 1878, features games, storytelling, live entertainment, the egg roll, and visits from a White House staffer dressed as the Easter Bunny. In order to attend, you must submit an application for the lottery program and be selected to receive a ticket.

The National Historic Landmark Tudor Place will host its annual Eggstravaganza events on March 24, 30, and 31, 2018 from 10 a.m. to noon. Children of all ages can enjoy an Easter egg hunt and a thrilling egg roll contest. After the games, you'll get to spend the morning decorating festive eggs and building a spring basket. Visitors also enjoy a self-guided tour of Tudor Place’s gardens. Bring your own basket, spoon, and one hard-boiled egg per child.

Located in Germantown, Maryland, Butler's Orchard will host its annual Bunnyland on March 24, 25, 30, and 31 and April 2, 7, and 8, 2018. You and your family can welcome the spring season by taking a hayride down the Bunny Trail, hunting for colorful eggs, and visiting with the farm's very own Country Easter Bunny. Other attractions include a pedal tractor ride, the Kiddie Hayromp and castle, and live bunnies, lambs, and baby chickens.

The Green Meadows Petting Farm offers a fun, safe atmosphere in Urbana, Maryland where kids and adults can learn about and experience animals firsthand. Included in the price of admission are interactions with and feeding of more than 250 animals, observance of cow-milking and pig races, and tractor races. On Saturday, March 25, 2018, Terrapin Adventures in Savage Mills invites guests to embark on a unique egg hunt on the Terrapin Explorer Course, which is specifically designed for kids aged 5 to 9. Along with the Eggcellent Adventure, children will also enjoy decorating their own egg cartons, petting live bunnies, and exploring the courses. A portion of each ticket will be donated to a local Rabbit Shelter, and preregistration is recommended to secure a spot.

Located in Middletown, the Surreybrooke Easter Scavenger Hunt takes place on Saturday, March 31, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children are invited to participate in a scavenger hunt where they will receive clues to run through a maze and the Alphabet Garden to find special treats. Reservations are required, children must be accompanied by an adult, and you are encouraged to bring your own basket to collect eggs.

Located in Chantilly, Virginia, Ticonderoga Farms will be hosting Easter egg hunts every weekend from March 10 to April 8, 2018. Join the Easter Bunny and search for candy and toy-filled eggs. The spring festival includes slides, a playground ark, hayrides, and a visit with farm animals. Food vendors will also be on-site so you can plan to have your lunch at the farm, too.

On Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 12 to 4 p.m. the Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt in Ida Lee Park. Located in Vienna, Virginia, the Roer's Zoofari is a small family-friendly zoo that hosts Easter egg hunts each year during its annual Easter-Eggstravaganza. In 2018, Roer's egg hunts take place on March 24, 25, and 31 and April 1. Kids will also be able to enjoy pony rides, raffle drawings, candy, face painting, Easter pictures, and a parakeet adventure on their trip to this zoo.

On March 30 through April 1, 2018, the Lee-Fendall House in Alexandria will host its 19th Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Children aged 12 and under are welcome to attend, but there is a fee for admission, and you can purchase tickets in advance through Eventbrite ticketing. Other activities include games, temporary tattoo stations, sticker and craft making, photos with the Easter bunny, and refreshments.

On Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 10 a.m. to noon, the city of Leesburg invites children to romp and roll in Morven Park's expansive lawn. Activities include story time, natural egg dying, basket making, an egg hunt, and learning about healthy Easter treats, topped off with an Easter egg roll on the Mansion lawn.

On Saturday, March 31, 2018, the city of Falls Church will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt in Cherry Hill Park starting at 10 a.m. Children up to 11 years old can bring their own baskets, hunt for eggs, and meet the Easter Bunny on this special day. West Belmont Place in Leesburg hosts a special holiday celebration with the Easter Bunny featuring a buffet brunch, a keepsake family photo, and an Easter egg hunt on the West Lawn of the National's 65-acre campus. Events take place on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adults will enjoy the lavish champagne brunch and children up to 12 years old will enjoy the egg hunt and Easter movie on the big screen.

On March 24 and 25, 2018, the Great Country Farms in Bluemont will host its annual Easter egg hunt and "Marshmallow Harvesting" event. Kids up to 10 years old can hunt for more than 10,000 treat-filled eggs especially hidden for four separate aged-based hunts daily. Visitors will enjoy the mysterious Marshmallow Harvest which always blooms on or around April 1st and can be eaten straight off the tree or roasted over the bonfire. Also, kids will enjoy the five-acre play area, which features unique attractions like the giant jumping pillow, pedal carts, and rope mazes.
