The bartender has shouted "last call," yet you're famished, and your friend needs contact solution. What to do? If you’re on Milwaukee’s East Side, you're in luck! Find out how to find a cab, where to park your car, where to eat, and where to find a 24-hour convenience store when you find yourself in need in the wee hours of the morning.

Cab Companies

Figuring out which cab company to call is pretty easy in Milwaukee, as there are currently only two companies to choose from Yellow Cab Cooperative and American United Taxi Cab & All City Veteran Taxi. Also, check Uber and their competition.

Overnight Parking and Parking Rules

As if just finding that elusive parking spot on the East Side isn’t bad enough, you also have abide by some parking rules. These rules can change on certain streets from night to night, and on most streets from season to season. Even if you do follow the posted rules, you'll wake up to find a parking ticket on your car if you don't have overnight parking permission or a night parking pass. Avoid these headaches by requesting overnight permission, or if you're a frequent overnight parker, by purchasing a night parking pass, at www.mpw.net

It's also a good idea to learn how to manage alternate-side street parking (on even-numbered calendar days park on the side with even house number; on odd-number calendar days park on the side with odd house numbers), winter parking regulations (winter parking is in effect from December 1 to March 1) and all other parking regulations. Learn more about all parking regulations at city.milwaukee.gov.
