Donna Heiderstadt is a former writer with Trip Savvy, concentrating on travel in the South Pacific. She is a New York City-based freelance travel writer and editor who has spent her life pursuing her two main passions: writing and exploring the world.

Donna spent the majority of her career in magazine publishing. She was Travel Editor of Modern Bride from 2002 until 2009. Prior to that, she was Senior Editor at Expedia Travels.

As a freelance writer, Donna has contributed to Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, Smart Luxury Travel, Islands, Spa, HI Luxury, Elite Traveler, and Shape. Her online contributions have included a weekly Romantic Getaways blog for ShermansTravel.com and features for TravelandLeisure.com.

Donna is also the author of Consumer Reports’ Best Travel Deals 2000 and the co-author of "Funnymoon," a romantic comedy screenplay set in Venice, Italy.

Donna's travels have taken her around the world. One of her biggest adventures was a four-month cruise to all seven continents. In total, she has visited over 85 countries. She has made multiple trips to the beautiful islands of the South Pacific, including a number of visits to Tahiti.

Education

Donna has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Journalism from LIU Post.
