If you are looking for ways to spend more time with your dog with a beer or other drink in hand, the following Boston destinations have you covered. Enjoy the weather and mingle with other dog owners during one of several happy hours that welcome your four-legged friends.
The Liberty Hotel, which was once the Charles Street Jail, is located in Beacon Hill, right on Charles Street. This swanky spot features hundreds of guest rooms, along with five different bar and restaurants. Amongst the onsite locations to dine and drink, their private courtyard, The Yard, is a perfect pet friendly area. Every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., they invite people to bring in their pooches for Yappier Hour. There are snacks to nosh on as well as seasonal cocktails for adults and even puptail or muttini’s for your four legged friends.
The Seaport Hotel’s Tamo bar and restaurant is inviting you to “B.Y.O.D.” (Bring Your Own Dog), for their weekly Yappy Hour events on the terrace, when the weather cooperates. Mingle with other pet lovers, dine, and drink, while taking advantage of the warm summer nights on Wednesday nights from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. They have created a menu especially for man’s best friend, featuring homemade dog treats prepared by the Seaport Culinary Team, with water to wash it down. It is the perfect way to meet fellow pet owners from near and far, over drinks, with your dog. Boston K9 Obedience has even shared a few tips for training your dog, which they’ve included on the menu as well.
Dogs & Drafts at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel
The Kimpton Marlowe Hotel in Cambridge is now holding Dogs & Drafts events, which is fitting given that the hotel is known to be quite dog-friendly. At these events, you can enjoy a beer and light bites. This is in partnership with local dog treat company Polka Dog Bakery and Red Dog Resort & Spa.
Yappy Hours at the Dorchester Brewing Company
The Dorchester Brewing Company is another newer brewery with and outdoor patio that caters to dogs. Occasionally they will have Yappy Hours with other local vendors like dog walkers, photographers, vets and treats. Starting in May, Yappy Hours will take place on the first Wednesday night of every month through summer. Check their website for details on the next Yappy Hour.
Other Seasonal Dog Events
Keep an eye out for other events where you can enjoy the nice weather outdoors with a drink and your dog. While many of these are only one-time events, they are worth adding to your calendar to check out. For example, in August 2019 the Harpoon Brewery hosted a Brews + Brown Dog event and the SoWa Open Market in the South End held a SoWa Dog Days of Summer party.
