Disney Wedding Dresses for Destination Brides

2007 Disney Wedding Dress collection

The Walt Disney Company

If you really want to feel like a princess at your destination wedding, consider wearing a Disney princess-inspired wedding gown. Such dresses are a natural extension of Disney Fairy Tale Weddings, held in the Disney parks in California and Florida.

Note: These dresses debuted in 2007 and were discontinued. In 2010 the Alfred Angelo company began manufacturing Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Dresses by Alfred Angelo. All were named after the cartoon princesses but looked quite different. Note: Neither the original dresses nor those from Alfred Angelo are currently in production.

The dresses below come from the original Disney princess collection launched in 2007 and use organza, chantilly, chiffon, satin, and tulle fabrics and are embellished with lace, ribbons, crystals, pearls, embroidery, and beads. Prices for these Disney bridal gowns ranged from $1,100 to $3,500, and they were sold at specialty boutiques in North America, Japan, and Europe. Disney "Jewels" to accessorize the dresses and a line of "Maidens" bridesmaids dresses and small-scale ones for flower girls contributed to a coordinated look.

These Disney wedding dress were designed by Kirstie Kelly to evoke the spirit of a different Disney princess character.

According to Kelly, "Every look takes its inspiration from the silhouette, palette, and icons of each Disney Princess story and interprets the spirit of each young woman. Each of them has a unique, charming, and very individual style that many brides can identify with — and now truly emulate — on their wedding day."

Her form-fitted Ariel dress has halter straps and a jewel on the bodice. The fabric is a shimmery silk with a mermaid-like "wave" hem.

Set on its own private island and surrounded by the Seven Seas Lagoon, Disney's Wedding Pavilion is where most Disney weddings take place.

Online and in the parks, Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons coordinators can design your day, whether it's an elaborate gala at the Fairy Tale Wedding Pavilion or an intimate affair for two at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort.

Other venues where couples may exchange vows in the park include the American Adventure and the France, Italy, and United Kingdom pavilions at EPCOT's World Showcase.
