Campo in downtown Reno has become a popular dining spot since opening in late 2011. Campo bills itself as a neighborhood restaurant and place to meet and eat. The menu literally changes daily, depending on what is available in the way of fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients. If you order pizza, it comes hot from a woodfired pizza oven.

There is plenty of inside seating and a full bar. Outside dining is available on a raised patio overlooking the Truckee River. It's really a nice spot.

Campo is located on the southwest corner of the Palladio condos building, 50 N. Sierra Street, Reno, NV 89501. Reservations are recommended, which can be made online or by calling (775) 737-9555. Campo is open seven days a week - click here for the hours.

West Street Market is a Reno redevelopment project that opened in December, 2008. It was a great idea that involved refurbishing some rundown buildings into a marketplace of restaurants, bars, and other small businesses. The timing was not good, however, and West Street Market has struggled to keep its spaces occupied. Still, it has a nice outdoor dining patio available to patrons of the various eateries and bars in residence, including Niko's Greek Kitchen, Z-Pie, West Street Wine Bar, and Se7en Teahouse and Bar. Check it out - you'll find West Street Market a pleasant spot to enjoy a drink or meal.

West Street Market is located at 148 West Street, Reno, NV 89501, between First and Second Streets. Hours vary depending on the business. For leasing information, call (775) 823-8877.

All of the restaurants, bars, and shops mentioned here are in the Reno Riverwalk District, which is officially known as the Raymond I. Smith Truckee River Walk. The area includes several blocks on both sides of the Truckee River, going west from the Virginia Street Bridge. It's basically the oldest part of town, established long before the casino district a few blocks to the north.

The Riverwalk District is slowly but surely becoming a nice destination in downtown Reno. An arts community is thriving here, along with independent theater productions, the Nevada Museum of Art, and the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. Many events and activities during Reno's annual Artown Festival take place in the Riverwalk District.
