    What: Enjoy a weekend of Arts and Crafts, Bluebonnet Souvenirs, Children's Activities, Live Music and scenic country rides taking in all the beautiful wildflowers with our Bluebonnet Trails Map. See up to 50 vintage cars in the Antique American Independent Car Show.

    When: The Festival is April 18-19, 2015. The 64th Annual Bluebonnet Trail is April 1-30, 2015.

    What: It's Duck Commander Weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Grab your patriotic bandana and head on out to Redneck Heaven in Fort Worth.

    What: Six blocks of Main Street in Deep Ellum transform into a super-sized street party with four outdoor stages and non-stop performances by 75 national, regional, and local original bands during this three-day festival. With more than 120 top-notch juried decorative and visual artists, muralist, the renowned Deep Ellum Pet Parade, and abundant food and drink, the Deep Ellum Arts Festival attracts a diverse audience and includes affluent art and music enthusiasts.

    When: April 3-5, 2015.

    Where: Deep Ellum Entertainment District on Main Street between Good Latimer and Hall Street.

    Cost: Admission is free. Food and beverages for purchase.

    Stonebriar Spring Sprint is partnering with City House to raise funds to open two transitional homes in Frisco, one for boys and one for girls. City House has been helping at-risk young adults aged 18-22 for the last 25 years and is expanding the Transitional Living Program to Frisco due to the rising number of homeless young adults in the area.

     

    The event takes place on Saturday, April 5, 2014 beginning at 7 am.

    What: Dallas Blooms, a festival of over 500,000 spring-blooming bulbs and botanical beauty in a 66-acre garden.

    When: March 5 through April 6, 2014

    If you miss the Easter bunny photographer, then BYOB: bring your own (stuffed) bunny along with your camera. The tulips, daffodils and azaleas are in full bloom and nature makes a colorful backdrop. The beautiful flowers make it easy for any photographer to look like a pro.

    Admission: $15 adults; $12 seniors; $10 (ages 3-12) plus parking.

    Remember: Don't pick or trample the tulips. Arboretum rules prohibit standing or walking in garden beds and you can't climb trees or shrubs.

    Live racing returns to Lone Star Park Thursday, April 10, 2014 celebrating its 17th season of Spring Thoroughbred racing. Big changes, new additions and exciting renovations await fans this season with plenty of entertainment, promotions and the Lone Star Music Series concert schedule.

     

    What: April 10, 2014 kicks off the official Thoroughbred horse racing season.

    April 12: National Grilled Cheese Day

    Guests can sink their teeth into a gooey grilled cheese sandwich courtesy of Norma’s Cafe on National Grilled Cheese Day, April 12. Any customer who comes into either restaurant location can enjoy the classic comfort sandwich for free.     It's the 33rd annual Terrell Heritage Jubilee carnival, bbq cook-off, arts and crafts, 5K run, pig races, car and motorcycle show, pony rides, business expo and ranch rodeo. It's April 25-27, 2014 at Ben Gill Park. Terrell is approximately 25 miles east of Dallas on Interstate Highway 20 and U.S. Highway 80. Is there anything more fun than mutton bustin?

    This is Frisco's big food truck extravaganza! Frsco StrEATS is a festival of gourmet food trucks, live music, a classic car show, shopping and more. If you haven't been before, you must check it out.

    Bring a non-perishable food item for Frisco Family Services for a chance to win great prizes.

    Some of the food trucks slated to be at the event include The Butcher's Son (I love them!), Nammi Cruisin Vietnamese Fusion (also an awesome choice!), Cajun Tailgators (I intend to check them out), Rockstar Bakeshop, Eat Jo Dawgs and more.
