Events, Parties, Bashes, Balls and Shows to Celebrate 2015

There's plenty to do throughout the Metro-Detroit Area on New Year's Eve. Whether it is a family show, concert, or huge dance party, Detroiters know how to usher in the New Year. Here are just a few of Detroit's New Year's Eve Parties, Events, Balls and Shows being held in celebration of 2015:

    Ticket Price: Pre-sale begins at $10

    The celebration includes music by Eran “EH” Hersh, Vyctor Ukraine, K@DOG, and DJ Maverick. The party includes complimentary appetizers between 10 PM and midnight and drink specials.

    Time: Board at 8 PM / Cruise at 10 PM

    The Detroit Princess Riverboat celebrates the New Year with music, dancing, a dinner buffet with Prime Rib, a Champagne toast, and, of course, cruising. DJ “Lightning Rod and "Captain Sky" will spin old school, dance and top-40 music or you take in a live show by the Prolifics.

    Time: Dinner at 7 PM / Show at 8 PM

    Festivities include a Legends Live Tribute Show with Tom Jones, Bobby Darin, Donna Summers, and Ray Charles impersonators. The evening includes dinner, a show, dancing, cash bar, drink specials and a Champagne toast. Call 734-285-4044 for reservations.

    Time: 10 PM

    Detroit Public Television and the DSO host a New Year's Eve Concert & Gala that will include New Orleans jazz, Motown, and Viennese music. Jeff Tyzik will conduct, Byron Stripling will be on trumpet and Bobby Floyd on B3 Hammond organ.

    The New Year's Eve Gala Benefit starts at 8 PM and includes strolling dinner, dancing, Champagne and cigars. A Gala-only after party is included.

    The Resolution Ball is one of the largest in the Midwest. Entertainment includes high-wire acrobats and roving illusionists, as well as DJ Tommy Holiday. The Ball also features a midnight buffet with pizza, sliders and Coneys; a Champagne toast; a balloon drop; and six big screens tuned to Times Square.

    Over 1000 people are expected at the event, which will fill an exclusively designed ballroom. The party includes light entertainment, dance music, an open bar, a buffet fountain, a ball drop, and a cash give away .

    Detroit's second largest theater venue hosts Comedian Mike Epps on New Year's Eve.

    The annual gala includes hors d'oeuvres, a Filet Mignon & Chicken Boursin Plated Duette, an open bar, a specialty dessert table, Afterglow pizza, and Champagne. Live Entertainment will be provided by one1man out.

    The V Nightclub hosts a New Year's dance party with DJ CAPTN20, DJ Hush and DJ Chris B. The party celebrates Hollywood.

    Crowd: 10,000 people expected, Family Friendly

    The “D” is lowered at midnight in downtown Detroit. In its 4th year, the celebration offers a free night of celebration to adults and kids alike. The festival includes local entertainment on two stages, ice skating, fire pits, horse drawn carriages and more. Kids will enjoy their own mini drop earlier in the evening, games and activities. Food is available from a host of local restaurants, vendors and food trucks.
