Arlington: Pumpkin Patch at First Christian Church in Arlington

What: The Annual Pumpkin Patch features about 5,000 different pumpkins and gourds, a story time reading corner for children, photo opportunities, games, a decorating station, and fun activities for all ages.

When: Runs from October 1-31 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with trick or treating on the 31st.

Where: 910 S. Collins, Arlington, Texas.

Benefits: Central Arlington's Annual Pumpkin Patch is hosted by First Christian and Rush Creek Christian Churches each year to raise money for youth summer service trips.

Canton: Yesterland Farm

Old-Fashioned Fall Festival - Pumpkin Patch with the most fun of all! Get lost in the Corn Maze, squeal for joy on the Nostalgic Amusement Rides, cheer at the pig races and enjoy some classic fair style food like hand-dipped corny dogs and deep fried marshmallows with chocolate sauce.

When: Open weekends September 21 through November 3. Weekdays by reservation only (they host privately-booked school field trips).

Hours: Saturdays 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sundays 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. October Fridays 6 - 10 p.m.

Attractions: Farm attractions include the shows and self-serve fun the farm has to offer to all ages. Includes a dozen-plus farm attractions - get a farm pass, then buy tickets for $1 each. Most rides take 2 tickets. Some of the fun activities you can do are Corn Maze, Wagon Train rides, Giant Slide, Pork Chop Downs Pig Races, Farm Zoo, Rubber Duck Races, Play Area, Kiddie Western Play Town, Watch the Pumpkin Movie in the giant Tipi, Dress the Scarecrow, use of the Picnic Pavilion and photo opportunities galore!

Celina: Preston Trail Farms and the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm

What: This is one fun family-owned pumpkin farm with thousands of pumpkins. (No shortage here!) There is a hay maze that's about an acre. That's big and it's going to be big fun for everyone.

Cleburne: Mainstay Farm

Visit the annual "Family Pumpkin Days." You'll find orange and exotic pumpkins, hay bales, corn stalks and gourds for sale. Gift shop. Hay rides are included in admission, plus tree house, Jumping Pillow, wooden maze and other playground activities. Kids will love the 100-foot super chute slide, pedal kart race track. Picnic pavillion and indoor restrooms. Face and pumpkin painting are available for $6 each. 

Food: Gourmet hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage-on-a-stick, caramel apple chips, pumpkin ice cream, and pumpkin pie. 

When: Mainstay Farm and Haymarket opens Sept. 28 and is open Sunday through November 21.

Dallas: Autumn at the Arboretum

What: It's Cinderella's Great Pumpkin Festival at the Arboretum. The Tom Thumb Pumpkin Patch features a 66-acre garden filled with over 40,000 decorative pumpkins and gourds and over 150,000 colorful fall plants and flowers including chrysanthemums, salvia, coleus, ornamental grasses and impatiens. It's a perfect backdrop for the family photo.

When: Runs from September 22 - November 21. The Arboretum is open daily from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Flower Mound: The Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch

What: Pumpkin patch and more.

Free hay rides, petting zoo, pony rides, ferris wheel, carousel swing, barrel train, bounce houses, punkin chunkin, refreshments, fall decorations, picnic area available.

When: October 1 - November 4

Forney: The Gentle Zoo Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin Patch opens October 1-31 or whenever the pumpkins are gone. Want the pumpkins to come to you or your school/business? Mobile pumpkin patches are available too. Check out their corn cannons and pumpkin chunkers. Pumpkin patch, train rides, jumping pillow, petting zoo, maze and more.

Pumpkin prices range from $1 to $40.

Grapevine: Hall's Pumpkin Patch

What: Pumpkin patch, hayrides, corn maze and more. It's free to come out and pose with the pumpkins for a photo. You may purchase a pumpkin (50 cents mini up to $15), go on a hayride and go through the corn maze. *Hayride times begin at 5 p.m. on Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun only.

When: Runs from Sept. 28 - Nov. 4.

Hours: Mon. thru Thurs. 3 to 8 p.m., Fri. 3 to 10 p.m., Sat. 10 to 10 p.m., and Sun. 1 to 8 p.m

Frisco: Pumpkins on the Prairie at Grace Ave. United Methodist Church

Back by popular demands is the Great Pumpkin Launcher. Free games and bounce houses for the kids and hay rides for everyone.

When: Open from Sept. 29 to October 31.
