The Metro-Detroit area is home to a host of community theater groups that use local talent to present plays, musicals and other performances to the community within which it is situated. Community Theater Groups in Metro Detroit
Birmingham: Village Players of Birmingham presents five productions a year, including musicals and plays.
The community theater also produces two musicals a year through its Village Youth Theatre and hosts workshops and a summer theater arts camp.

Canton: Spotlight Players and Spotlight on Youth presents several productions a year, including dinner shows and Biltmore Studio and plays/musicals at the Main Stage in The Village Theater at Cherry Hill.

Detroit: The Park Players present one to two productions a year at the Rosedale Park Community House and Theater, which was built in 1939.

Farmington Hills: Farmington Players present a new production every couple of months at the Farmington Players Barn Theater, a one-time dairy farm. The venue seats 232 people, all within 11 rows of the stage. In addition to the auditorium, the theater has an atrium lobby and concessions.

Livonia: Motor City Youth Theatre is a community theater for children that was formerly known as Tinderbox Productions. Its productions are performed at the Grantland Street Playhouse, a former church; and The Livonia Civic Center Library Auditorium/ and Livonia Redford Theatre Guild.
The theater group also hosts workshops, a six-week performing arts series in Redford and tours local stores in neighboring communities.

Novi: Novi Civic Theatre is part of the Novi Parks Performing Arts program and presents five-to-seven productions a year.

Plymouth: Barefoot Productions Theatre presents several productions a year, including plays, musicals, dances, readers theater and original performances. The Theatre is located within a storefront.
Address of Performance Venue: 240 N. Main, Plymouth, Michigan
Rochester: Avon Players Community Theater presents five productions a year, including drams, musicals, and mysteries. It also presents a Youth Theater production. The productions are performed in a unique A-frame designed building built in 1965. Seats are divided between the main floor and across four risers back from the stage. The theater has concessions.

St. Clair Shores: St. Clair Shores Players presents to productions a season, a play in the fall and in the spring.
The plays are performed at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.

Southgate: Southgate Community Players produce three shows a year, including two musicals, two summer shows at The Corner Playhouse, youth shows, and interactive shows. Some of the productions are hosted at Davidson Middle School Auditorium

Troy: Ridgedale Players presents Main Stage productions, as well as Youth Actors of Ridgedale productions. The performances take place at the Troy Community Center.

Warren: Warren Civic Theatre was originally known as the Children's Theatre Workshop. These days, it presents five productions a year, classes and workshops.
Performances are presented in the Auditorium of the Warren Community Center.
