Tacoma Bed and Breakfasts are more plentiful than you might think and can be perfect alternatives to staying in generic hotels, or cheaper options than luxury hotels if you want a few extra touches. Tacoma B&B options range from affordable to downright luxurious. And while most options are clumped into North Tacoma and the Stadium District, there are options in other parts of Tacoma and surrounding areas, too.
Hands down the best bed and breakfast in Tacoma (and one of the contenders for best in the whole region), Thornewood Castle is a grand Elizabethan manor located in Lakewood. The site as it is today is 100 years old, but the building was actually a 400-year-old manor house in England that was shipped over in 1907 by Chester Thorne. This Tacoma B&B has 15 unique guest rooms and suites. Guests have three acres of grounds and an English garden to explore, as well as a variety of games and activities available on the premises. This is an amazing place for a wedding ceremony, and around Halloween, you can also join in a haunted tour if you stay the night.

Located centrally in North Tacoma, this B&B provides excellent access to downtown, the Waterfront, the Proctor District and the University of Puget Sound. If you want to enjoy the beauty of a Victorian home, this is a perfect choice. The home is a restored 1889 Eastlake Victorian located in the North Slope neighborhood, which is very close to downtown and the Stadium District. Breakfast is served in an antique dining room or in the garden outside on nice days. Three guestrooms decorated in Victorian style are available. Like Branch Colonial House, you'll have plenty to walk to nearby as well as beautiful neighborhood streets to stroll.

Also located in North Tacoma, this Tacoma bed and breakfast has four cozy rooms, all accented by high ceilings and antique touches.
Parents and students from UPS get discounts here, as do AAA members. All the rooms are lovely, but to really go all out, stay in the Steveland Suite and enjoy views of Commencement Bay out the windows.

One of the best bed and breakfasts in Tacoma for a few reasons, The Villa features foot-thick walls and none of the rooms are on top of each other—so you will enjoy a quiet and peaceful stay here. A bit more modern than many of the other local B&Bs, The Villa still retains old-world charm with large soaking tubs, gas fireplaces, and private verandahs. Each room has its own private bathroom. Weddings and other special events are welcome here.
Location: 705 North 5th Street, Tacoma, WA 98403
Very close to the Stadium District, Chinaberry Hill is great if you want to be able to walk to lots of nearby things to do, including a grocery store, restaurants, tea shops and nightlife spots.
Victorian décor with artistic flare make Chinaberry Hill stand out, and their tasty, always changing breakfast menu is another plus. Another perk is that there is a guest kitchen stocked with snacks and beverages that is always open. Six suites feature upscale highlights like whirlpool tubs or clawfoot soaking tubs, water views, and large closets.
