Club Med Punta Cana: Entrance to Petit Club Med
Note that this property received a significant renovation and relaunch in 2015. Read all about it in our review of Club Med Punta Cana.
Step through to the multi-roomed Petit Club Med for ages 2 and 3 and Mini Club Med for ages 4 to 10, plus a large fenced play zone with several playgrounds and two swimming pools.
At the Petit Club Med, Bambi's (2-year-olds) have activities such as arts and crafts, story time, playground and pool time, from 8:45 am until 9 pm. The Dolphins (3-year-olds) have pool time, games, Happy Gym, Mini Tennis, Putumayo music discovery program, Science club, and more. (Note: there's an extra charge for Petit Club Med.)
Over at the separate Mini Club Med are the Meddy's (age 4 to 5), Clubbers (6 to 7), and Kids (8 to 10.) Activities include circus, snorkeling, tennis, archery, and Hip Hop dance.
Also part of Club Med Punta Cana's kids programs are the Junior Club Med, for ages 11 to 13, and The Ramp, an innovative new place for teens.

Kids can participate as much or as little as they like in the Petit and Mini Club programs. An detailed activity schedule is posted for each age group, and parents and kids can pick'n'choose what they'd like to do.
Note too a refreshing lack of tv screens and videogames.

Petit Club Med Kids, Out and About
Much of the time, the kids are out and about, doing different activities around the property. The grounds are large and the sun can get hot: check out this transportation solution for Petit Club Med-ers, above.

photo: Mini Club On the Move
At Club Med Punta Cana, you'll hear not only the songs of birds but also the hearty chants of roving kids' club groups. The GO's get the kids to sing while they're walking through the grounds to an activity. The songs help keep the kids marching in a group, and are fun too. For example:
"Everywhere we go-oh
People want to know- oh
Who we a-are
Where we come from..."
Where do these kids come from, actually? About 50% of Club Med Punta Cana's guests are from the US and Canada and 50% are from Europe, with big swings at different times of year, such as Spring Break.

Kids Clubs Activities Include Trapeze
Those Mini Clubbers on the move (on the previous page) might be heading to the trapeze, above.
Circus School -- trapeze, trampoline, juggling-- is just one of the many activities kids enjoy in their Junior, Mini, or Petit Clubs. Kids as young as four can try trapeze (with many safety measures, of course.)
Archery, roller-blading, wind-surfing, sand-castles... Club Med Punta Cana has fun for every age, and constantly adds to the mix. Of special note:
- Petit Tennis for ages 3 to 7*
- Hip Hop Kidz, dance for ages 4 to 17
- Putumayo World Playground, a "musical discovery program" for young kids, that explores countries through songs and kids' "passports"
- The Ramp, a program/facility for teens and tweens

Club Med Punta Cana - Photo of Mini Club Show
The piece de resistance of Club Med's kids' activities is the Mini-Club show, which takes place once a week.
Children of every age in the different Clubs participate: they've been coached by staff who crouch off-stage and mime actions for the kids to follow. The show has professional lighting, music and costumes in a real amphi-theatre.
Some performances -- for example, by Juniors who've done Hip Hop Kidz-- are amazingly good. Across all ages, kids and parents are thrilled with the show.
