This Asiatown restaurant is named for the popular Vietnamese dish, "Pho," a noodle and beef broth combination garnished with mint, lemongrass and other condiments. Additions to the basic dish are limited only by your imagination, and frequently include tiny meatballs, beef or chicken pieces, shrimp, and vegetables.
Pho is the most popular dish at #1 Pho, but by no means the only one. The friendly eatery serves a variety of Vietnamese fare, including light and delicious spring rolls.
Bo Loong, on St. Clair Avenue in Cleveland's Asiatown, offers excellent Chinese cuisine at affordable prices. Plus, they serve late into the evening. Try them after the theater or other downtown event.
House of Hunan - Medina
Located right on the square in Medina, this restful and elegant Asian restaurant serves a little bit of everything. There are traditional Chinese favorites such as Kung Pao chicken, Thai curries and Pad Thai, and a sushi bar in the rear of the restaurant. Prices are affordable and the service is efficient. A nice oasis to refresh you while antique shopping or exploring Medina County.
Minh Anh Vietnamese Restaurant
Minh Anh, on Cleveland's near west side, is an affordable and delicious family-run eatery on the near west side, offering excellent soups, spring rolls, and a variety of Vietnamese specialties. Entrees range from simple noodle dishes, garnished with peanuts and julienned carrots and cucumbers to more exotic dishes, such as frog legs cooked in coconut milk. I've eaten here at least twenty times and everything I've had has been delicious.
Siam Cafe, located in Cleveland's Asiatown just east of downtown, is a favorite of Asian and non-Asians alike. The vast menu features traditional Thai specialties as well as Cantonese and Vietnamese favorites. Everything I've tried there has been delicious.
Considered by many to be the best Asian restaurant in Northeast Ohio, this unassuming Cleveland Heights restaurant serves a diverse mixture of Japanese high-quality sashimi grade sushi and Malaysian fare, due to two different chefs. Both are sensational.
Opened in 1978, Pearl of the Orient combines regional Chinese cuisine with Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese specialties. The company has two locations--one at Beachcliff in Rocky River and one at the Van Aken shopping center in Shaker Heights. Both have full bars, a relaxing atmosphere, and a host of tasty food from which to choose. The newly remodeled west side location now has a sushi bar.
