Christopher Run Campground in Virginia is ideally situated at Lake Anna. There is plenty to do in the region. The campground is located near two gold courses, wineries, Civil War battlefields, the Virginia Visitors Center, Montpelier, Monticello, and Shenandoah National Park. Campground Review and Description
Description: There are a variety of camping sites and sizes to accommodate everything from tent camping to a very large trailer or motor home. The access roads are well maintained, which makes accessibility easy in a trailer.
There are family planned events and a sports field with basketball, bad mitten, putt-putt golf and there are other games to entertain all and a game room.
They have several boat ramps allowing for a quick easy launch. The bathhouses are well maintained and stocked.
Pros, Cons, Attractions and Additional Comments
Pros: We, Bill, Emay and Buddy (dog), just graduated from the old standby 10' x 10' tent to a 2008 29’ trailer that provides so much more toward accommodations and ease of camping.
There are numerous sites available that accommodate this size trailer and even larger RV or trailer throughout the campground.
Even with this new found camping experience and our own accommodations (in the trailer), I would say that the bath houses and facilities are so well maintained even the most particular "Mom of Moms" would allow their children access.
Not only is this campground meticulously maintained but the staff and campers are very friendly, courteous and fun. We met some of the nicest campers who shared their campfires, stories and experiences, which provided us, new trailer-owners, some sound advice and good laughs.
We highly recommend this campground for families with children of all ages. With the basketball court, game room and putt-putt golf, everyone has something to do when not fishing, swimming or just enjoying the flames of a campfire.
Cons: The only negative or non-positive that we can think of is that the summer does not last all year round. We enjoyed our time at the campground so much that it was hard to winterize and store our camper. Until next year...
Attractions: Lake Anna fishing, and the restaurants and stores are close by.
