Snow and ice in Orlando? You bet.

The holiday season kicks off in late November at Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida, with the return of ICE!, the award-winning icy attraction, and the resort’s 41-day Christmas celebration. With more than two million lights and a 54-foot-tall Christmas tree, families will feel at home for the holidays during their visit to Kissimmee, which is part of greater Orlando.

ICE! and the Christmas Celebration

From the third week in November through the New Year, families visiting the Gaylord Palms Resort can experience an ICE! theme based on a classic holiday film, story, or poem. Carved from more than two million pounds of colorful ice and kept at a crisp nine degrees, the icy exhibit depicts life-size, favorite scenes.

The attraction features a signature two-story ice slide room and an interactive The Frostbite Factory experience where visitors can see first-hand how master ice-carving Chinese artisans create ICE!

Other activities include:

  • snow tubing and ice skating
  • decorating gingerbread houses
  • Festival of Trees, with dozens of extravagantly decorated Christmas trees at the resort
  • carriage rides
  • Opryland kids train
  • holiday-themed scavenger hunt
