Check Into These Five Airport Hotels

Hotels connected to airports can be very convenient for business and leisure travelers. For business travelers, most facilities have meeting spaces, allowing guests to have events without ever leaving the airport. For leisure travelers, you may want to stay in a hotel if you have a very early or very late flight. Plus they can be a viable option if you have a flight delay or cancellation (read what to do if a hotel isn’t in your budget, here), with many offering rates by the half day or even hour. Below is a list of five great airport hotels, complete with unique amenities.

This hotel, attached to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, is one of the favorites. Forget the fact that rooms have killer views of the airport runway. This hotel has one of the friendliest staffs ever (both in person and on Twitter). You can take the D Link train directly to your gate, it has nearly 35,000 square feet of meeting space, a world-class spa and fitness center, a rooftop pool and a sushi bar to die for!

Sofitel London Heathrow

This hotel, which is attached to British Airways’ Terminal 5, is a facility that was designed specifically for business travelers, although leisure folks will enjoy it too. It is a bit of a hike from the terminal to the hotel, so you will need that luggage cart. But once you’re there -- heaven. The rooms feature cloud-like beds with a fridge, great Wi-Fi, a desk you can work at, plus windows that are so tight you’d never know you’re at an airport. It has USB ports and ports that allow you to use the television as a display monitor. The hotel boasts nearly 33,000 square feet of meeting space, along with two great restaurants and a cafe that serves afternoon tea.

You can have your checked bags delivered to your room, and the rooms are nicely apportioned, including great views of the runway. It has a great steakhouse and a casual bar and grill, and you can do business with 42,000 square feet of meeting space. The airport has everything you need. Souvenir for the kid? Check, because of the Disney, Universal and Sea World stores. Non-hotel restaurant breakfast? Check, because the Food Court has a Krispy Kreme outlet.

The airport owns and runs this hotel, located inside the terminal on Concourse E. It features a conference room that sits up to 200 people, along with two board rooms and a business center. The hotel offers a baggage service that will deliver directly to your room, which, of course, has great views of the airport. You must have a meal at the Top of the Port restaurant, which also has spectacular views of the airport.
