If you’re looking for a few options in Toronto for cheap drinks look no further than these 10 spots across the city that offer some great deals on drinks (and food, too).


Every week, Tuesday through Friday at Beast you can take advantage of "Beast 120" from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. During this time there are $5 drinks that include sparkling, red, white and rose wine, the house cocktail (a negroni) and various craft beers.

The 120 menu also includes $5 snacks like curried chicken arancini and buffalo yogurt raita, roasted cauliflower with pimento cheese sauce, or seaweed salad slaw with ginger scallion dressing.

Wide Open Bar

Despite the name, this downtown Toronto bar is actually super-narrow but the price is definitely right. Wide open offers various cheap drink deals depending on the day of the week. Monday boasts half price drinks and $12 pitchers until Midnight, Thursday drinks go as low as $2.75 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. (yes, really), pitchers are $13 all night on Fridays and you can always get a shot of Jim Beam for $5.

Trevor Kitchen and Bar

Head to this basement restaurant from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday to Friday for some decent drink specials. One ounce mixed drinks with house spirits and Amsterdam Big Wheel Amber Ale are just $4.42 ($3 on Thursdays) and you can also pair your budget-friendly beverages with half price macaroni and asiago cheese.

Ossington Stop

This low key, friendly Dundas West (at Ossington, hence the name) bar serves easy on the wallet food and drinks all the time. A 15 oz glass of beer is just $4, a 3.5 oz glass of wine is $5 and 1 oz shots are $4. A meatless flatbread with caramelized onions and cheese is just $3 ($4.50 with chicken, beef or pulled pork) and Russian steamed buns with pork and cabbage are only $4.

Globe Bistro

Every day from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. except Monday you can take advantage of cheap drinks at this Danforth restaurant. All wines by the glass and draught beer is half price and freshly shucked oysters with various accompaniments are $1 each.

Drake Hotel

Stop by the Drake Hotel’s Aprés Work every day from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for some seriously good drink deals. Choose from a list of eight creative cocktails all priced at $9, Mill Street Organic and Mill Street Tank house on tap are $5 and Drake ‘Starving Artist’ chardonnay and cabernet-merlot is $6 for a 5 oz glass. Oh, and sushi is half price.

Axis Gallery and Grill

This Junction favourite has a number of drink and food specials throughout the week. Monday all domestic beer is $4.50 (plus tax), Tuesday bottles of Stock Ale are only $5, get pints of Moosehead for $5 on Wednesday, Thursday is martini night (they’re $6 each), on Friday pints of Axis Lager are $5 and on Saturday pints of Steamwhistle are $5. Monday to Friday appetizers are half price from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Hey Lucy Café

There are three locations of Hey Lucy Café in the city: King West, the Annex and Cabbagetown. At all three casual Italian spots you can find drink specials on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Wednesdays you’ll find martinis for $4.49 and on Thursday select wines are $5 a glass.

Duffy’s Tavern

Each day of the week sees a different drink special at this Toronto bar at Bloor and Lansdowne that has been in operation since 1949. A few low-cost options include $4 vodka and Moosehead on Mondays, $4 tequila and Amsterdam on Tuesdays and $4 glasses of wine on Friday among other deals. Thursdays you can get a burger and fries for just $5.

Lot St.

Lot St. is a cozy bar on Queen West (great date night spot) that also offers some good drink specials throughout the week. Get $5 pints on Tuesday, $5 glasses of select wine or $25 featured wine bottles on Thursday, $5 rails shots on Friday and $5 bourbon on Saturday. The menu offers many small plates ideal for sharing.
