Opening Day at Luna Park
You're in luck, due to a false alarm snowstorm on Palm Sunday, which resulted in only a dusting of snow, the opening for Luna Park was rescheduled for Easter Weekend. On Saturday, March 26th at 11:45 am, be one of the first 100 online for the Cyclone and ride for free. You can't hop on until after the annual Egg Cream Christening of the roller coaster's front car. Other events at Luna Park start at 11 am with the annual tradition of the Blessing of the Rides at Deno's Wonder Wheel Park. Deno's Wonder Wheel is marking its 96th season with a free ride for the first 96 riders. Luna Park is also open on Good Friday, March 25th, and Easter Sunday, March 27th.

Eat at the Smorgasburg in Prospect Park
The Smorgasburg, Brooklyn's favorite weekly foodie fair, has relocated from Brooklyn Bridge Park and will spend the summer in Prospect Park. On Sunday, April 3rd, you can start heading to the scenic park and peruse the many vendors selling artisanal treats. Fingers crossed Wowfulls will be one of the vendors at the summer location. I've been trekking to Industry City, the winter home of the Smorgasburg and Brooklyn Flea, for these tasty waffles with ice cream.

Roller Skate at Brooklyn Bridge Park
Maybe you grew up skating underneath a disco ball wearing a glow stick necklace (I did), but there is nothing better than roller skating on a pier with a backdrop of stunning views of Lower Manhattan. Starting April 15th (yes, Tax Day), Brooklyn Bridge Park opens for the season. Enjoy skating at this covered outdoor skating rink. After you skating session, be sure to order a cone from the Ample Hills kiosk.

Stock up on Records at the WFMU Record Fair
After you've finished your spring cleaning and made room for some new vinyl, head to the WFMU Record Fair at the Brooklyn Expo Center in Greenpoint. Yes, Brooklyn is home to wonderful record stores, but on April 29th- May 2nd you should check out this annual record fair. If you did serious spring cleaning and have albums you'd like to donate, contact the folks at the fair, they are seeking out vinyl and CDs.
