Cardiff, the largest city and the capital of the country of Wales, has a population of about 350,000 and a pleasant setting on Bristol Channel. In mid-August, the city hosts Pride Cymru, the Cardiff Pride Celebration formerly known as Cardiff Wales LGBT Mardi Gras. which is a combination of a gay arts and cultural festival and a Gay Pride event. The event takes place in mid-August - this year's dates are Friday and Saturday, August 12 and 13, 2016.
Events during Pride Cymru in Cardiff include the Party in the Parc music festival on Friday, and on Saturday, the Pride Cymru Parade from 11 am to 12:30 pm, the "Main Event" celebration at Cooper Field from noon til 9:30 pm, and the Pulse Street Street Party in the evening.
