Introduction to Cabela's
Cabela's retail division operates popular destination stores throughout the country. As much wildlife museum and education center as a retail store, the Cabela's showroom provides a truly unique shopping experience. The Cabela's product line includes offerings of hunting, fishing, camping, and related outdoor merchandise.
Cabela's Trivia: Cabela's started as strictly mail order. Today, they produce more than 76 different catalogs per year, including specialty books focusing on such outdoor pursuits as archery, fly-fishing, and boating. Part Retail, Part Tourist Attraction
The aquarium, wildlife displays, and the Canyon Country Wildlife Museum make Cabela's more than just a store for hunting gear. At Cabela's you can shop, learn, eat, and play. The Arizona Cabela's will follow the general format of the other stores, with slightly different design to reflect the Arizona outdoor environment. Not all the birds and animals displayed are found in Arizona, but there are many that are. The murals that you'll see were all hand-painted and depict southwestern themes. Don't forget to bring your camera!
The decor and exhibits at Cabela's are certainly pleasing to the hunting and fishing enthusiast, but they are also educational. Each of the animals displayed has a descriptive sign, and the trophy plaques throughout the store describe the animal, as well as the recognition achieved by the hunter. The Arizona Cabela's store features a tank of fish that are native to Arizona, including our state fish, as well as several endangered species. The Cabela's management team worked closely with Arizona Game and Fish on that project.
It is not uncommon to see schools groups come through Cabela's for the educational aspects of their displays, and Cabela's offers free seminars from time to time on hunting/fishing related topics.
Cabela's Trivia: There are more than 400 animals on display at Cabela's. Some were real animals that were stuffed, and some are original creations. All are very lifelike, from the tiny mouse to the huge elephant.Continue to 3 of 6 below.

Cabela's Specialty Shops
The General Store is a place where you can buy stuff. Yes, it's a store within a store! Another specialty store you'll find within Cabela's is the Gun Library. Whether browsing or buying, these collector's items are not what you'd find at your typical retailer. Finally, join the crowd at the Bargain Cave, where slightly damaged merchandise and slightly used returns mean a great deal on great outdoor clothing and equipment.
Cabela's Trivia: About half the visitors to Cabela's come from more than 100 miles away. The average length of a visit to Cabela's is about 3-1/2 hours.Continue to 4 of 6 below.
