Chilled, milky perfection with sweet, gummy tapioca balls that slide over your tastebuds after being sucked through a huge vacuum-like straw. Sigh. With wild flavors like Matcha green tea, lychee, taro, honeydew, passion fruit, and dozens more, Bubble Tea is the dessert/drink/snack of your dreams. We've rounded up the best in North Jersey.

ViVi Bubble Tea

The New Jersey outpost of this New York City-based franchise serves up highly authentic Taiwanese tea and snacks. The "special" tea concoctions are worth a try and the Tiramisu milk tea is dessert in a cup. You mustn't leave without noshing on a couple of Taiwanese BBQ Sausages (on a stick!) and Spicy Popcorn Chicken. Yum. 117 Washington St., Hoboken

Intrinsic Café

You'll find Rutgers Newark or NJIT students studying (or taking a break!) at this chill café. Play some board games, chill out on the back patio, and sip on one of the many Bubble Tea options. On Greek Mondays, students can wear their letters to receive 2 Bubble Teas for $5. On Fridays, the rest of us can get the same deal for two large teas. For the coffee-lovers, a bottomless coffee for dine-in patrons will run you only $3.75. 5 Sussex Ave., Newark

The Big Straw

If you haven't a clue what Bubble Tea actually is, The Big Straw has you covered with a wonderful FAQ section on their website.
