The Best of Missouri Market is one of the most popular fall events at the Missouri Botanical Garden. The event is a celebration of all things made in Missouri. The market welcomes more than a hundred vendors from all across the state to sell arts, crafts, food and more.

When and Where:

The Best of Missouri Market is held each fall during the first weekend of October. In 2016, the Best of Missouri Market is September 30-October 2. The market is open for a special preview on Friday, September 30, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Then, its open again on Saturday, October 1, and Sunday, October 2, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The market is held at the Missouri Botanical Garden in south St. Louis. The booths are set up under giant tents near the Ridgway Visitor Center close to the Shaw Avenue entrance.

Admission Prices:

Admission to the Best of Missouri Market is $12 for adults and $5 for children and garden members. Children of garden members get in free. Tickets are available for purchase in advance online, or can be purchased at the door.

About the Vendors:

Each year, some 120 vendors from across Missouri are invited to sell their wares at the market. Many return year after year, but there are always some new offerings too. Food lovers can sample and buy fresh produce, handmade sausages, goat cheeses, salsas, soups, snacks and more. Craft vendors sell everything from handmade jewelry and furniture, to wooden toys and handcrafted soaps.

The Food Court:

In addition to the food vendors, there's also a food court serving up plenty of tasty eats. Popular stops at the food court include Bavarian Smoke Haus, Blue Owl Restaurant and Bakery, Fitz's and Merb's Candies.

More to See:

Visitors can also enjoy live music throughout the event. Local folk and bluegrass musicians at will be performing each day Linnean Plaza. And, for those bringing children along, don't miss the Kids' Corner. It's filled with family-friendly activities like cow-milking, face painting, a pumpkin patch, a photo booth and more. The Kids' Corner is open Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where to Park:

Each year, some 25,000 visitors attend the Best of Missouri Market. With such a big crowd, parking can be an issue. There is a large parking lot outside the Ridgway Visitor Center along Shaw Avenue, but that fills up quickly. Another option is to park at the lots near Shaw and Vandeventer and walk a few blocks to the garden entrance. Some limited street parking is also available along Shaw and Tower Grove Avenues.
