Skating at Atrium Le 1000

Easily Montreal's best indoor skating rink, Atrium le 1000 is located on the southern edge of the downtown core not too far from Chinatown and Old Montreal, housed in the "Le 1000" building, the tallest high rise in Montreal.

Courtesy of the Atrium's indoor 10,000 square foot rink complete with glass dome overhead, Montrealers can glide on the ice year-round and skate in comfort, wearing as little as a pair of shorts and a tank top if the fancy strikes. It's a great spot to go even in the winter when Montreal's top outdoor skating rinks are in season, particularly on extra cold days or when a warm spell melts the outdoor ice, messing up outdoor conditions too much to skate. It's a choice spot for visitors too since the rink is centrally located.

For extra convenience, there's a food court surrounding the rink. Music and special events like $5 Wednesdays are regular Atrium features as well. Children's birthday parties at the rink are a common weekend sight.
