"Pick Your Own" Blackberry Farms in North Carolina

Picking Your Own Blackberries in the Charlotte Area and Beyond

For a lot of North Carolinians, it's not officially summer until you've made a trip to the local farm to pick out a fresh batch of blackberries. Whether they're being used for a pie or cobbler, or for a number of other delectable desserts, there's nothing like fresh blackberries. If you're looking for blackberry farms in North Carolina, you're in luck because there are plenty of farms that let you pick your own!

Listed below are just a few of these farms to get you started. The list is broken down into three different areas to make finding one close to you a little easier: Western North Carolina, the North Carolina coastal region, and the Charlotte area (the Piedmont or central region).

For each area, I have farms listed and a link to a complete database to find more. What you'll find listed on this page is nowhere near a comprehensive list, nor an I saying that these are the "best" ones. It's just a sampling of some of what NC has to offer. I did try to include farms from different areas of each region, so there's sure to be one not too far from you.

Most of these sites do offer other fresh fruits and vegetables, and several even have other "pick your own" foods. But for each of these spots, you can pick your own blackberries.

Blackberry picking season is usually sometime from late June to late July and early August, so start checking towards the middle to end of May to find out when your favorite farm opens.
