Not all stores are open on Thanksgiving Day, but there are plenty open on the day after Thanksgiving. On Black Friday -- and in the afternoon and evening on Thanksgiving Day — many Phoenix-area retailers open their doors with special deals and bargains hoping to attract shoppers with long holiday shopping lists.

You've seen all the ads. There are scores of websites where you can find out which retail chain stores are open for discounted gift shopping on Thanksgiving and the day after, Black Friday.

I would rather focus some out-of-the-ordinary Black Friday deals. These are local businesses that have something special to offer instead of fighting the crowds at local traditional malls or outlet malls. Check back often — I update this list as new deals and offers come to my attention.

Local Businesses Offer Black Friday Deals - 2016
